Recommended insurance agents across locations

Hi guys,

I think it is a good idea to have a thread collating the reliable insurance agents in major locations. I get the feeling we get ripped off by dealers and can save a fair packet if done outside.

I want an agent in Chennai to help with insurance for a new Ford Ikon TCDI. It should be from a nationalized bank like United India. New India etc.

If anyone knows reliable agents from other locations, please include their name and phone number with their location and insurance company(s) for which they work for.

We use "Redline Auto" which is the insurance arm of the Mariwala group (linkway honda, Auto hangar etc). Bargain hard for great deals. They are pretty organised & systematic.

We get all our companies insurance deals done through Prudent, they are primarly tied up with TATA AIG but i think they provide policies too on request.
I think they have office all over, their chairman is a close family friend so rates for us are always unbeatable.

I've never gone to insurance agents for Auto insurance. I usually pay directly at the Insurance offices.

Does bargaining saves any bucks in reality ?

Do Insurance companies like Sundaram actually allow bargaining?

Well... Reliance I know has a 'direct' rate - for any business that is sourced directly (not thru an agent) - not much just a marginal discount.

Is changing insurance company every year is good to get a good price. Earlier also I asked this question but it was said if you stick with one then you will build relationship. I feel when it come to claiming insurance trust and relationship will help not to a great extent.

Sirji, I am not saying to change the insurance company every year, but you can bargain the premium when you are renewing the policy with the same insurance company as well.

As far as I know Reliance and Icici is the cheapest in the business. But for claim's also they are the most poor service provider. - Your views may differ from this.

In Kolkata you can contact Mr. Amit (9748490508). He deals with ICICI LOMBARD, HDFC CHUBB, New India, National, Bajaj Allianz.
I am using his service for all my (and family) 7 cars for last three years.
Doorstep(Office too) service. Active help while claiming ( this car insurance thing goes by a non procedural way and contacts helps).
And yes you can save money by bargaining. You can get the share of agent fee. Just check the value of car insured for, and extra things covered under the insurance and then sign the dotted line.
