- Verito is derived from the Latin word ‘Veritas’, meaning truth.

It's a nice move by Mahindra. If I am correct, they can atleast now stop paying royalty for using the 'Logan' badge owned by Renault. The other cosmetic touches added like the side cladding, roof rails, fog lamps and the chrome strip at the rear neither improve nor spoil the design. With sales already hovering around 1000 units since Mahindra exited the Renault JV, this facelift and name change should help it stay healthy in the sales charts.

Not to forget, I am extremely happy that we have not been forced to see another horrible rabbit tooth front grille design in the Verito. I was afraid that Mahindra would do it to the Logan.

As per the contract, they will have to pay royalty to Renault for each Verito sold.

The Prices being advertised are base model prices (hardly any features) - I was almost fooled into cancelling my Figo booking.

Looks are ok. Not much changes.

I heard that mini Xylo will have small diesel heart of 1500 cc. Why not fit the same for Verito? People have loads of trust in Mahindra. People will buy more if it has Mahindra heart. Also it will increase the profits of Mahindra as they don't have to pay any Royalty to Renault.

Experts, what's you take on this?

The Logan in my view is a much better car than the Figo, I don't own either but have test driven both, the Logan is couple of notches above with regards to space and almost every thing.

@ aniketi: It seems that M&M have done an impressive job at the front grille

. The have integrated the Mahindra logo almost seamlessly, and thankfully opted out of the tooth grille.

Looks like they haven't changed anything other then embossing their logo on the grill, roof rails and piece of chrome on the boot. Nothing chained wrt interiors either.

Thanks god M&M kept aside their trademark grill.

the signature pictures on the verito website show a car with a Dacia Logo, which is partially obscured by the M&M logo - looks to be an old pic of the car with the new logo superimposed on it or something of the kind.

I don't think M&M's 3 potter? 1.5 diesel will suit for a sedan. Renault diesel will be anytime better then M&M's, at least for a sedan.

All the nice things I have heard about Logan's reliability from actual heavy duty users - I haven't heard those about Xylo. I don't think it'll be a good idea to replace the engine.

Some pictures of the Verito. New front bumper fog lamps. Previous ones used to be circular. Honestly, those roof rails looks odd. Steering wheel, wheelcaps all get a Mahindra logo now.

Well now atleast one can expect that the front and back logos don't get stolen.

With this size of the back logo maybe one wont dare to steal such a big logo.

I quite like the rear chrome logo - has a gull-wing feel to it. But it does not gel at all with the very linear rear design elements. And i think M&M missed a big opportunity to put some polish on this rudimentary car - they could have put some frills to it to jack up sales.
