Re: Ford officially enters the pre-owned segment with "Ford Assured"

Another thing I would like Ford to implement is selling OEM parts without a damn labour sheet attached to it.

Re: Ford officially enters the pre-owned segment with "Ford Assured"

Good move by Ford. They have done their homework well.

Ford initially had a bad name due to cost and availability of spares and service. I know of many people who hesitated to buy Ford cars even a few years back. Things began to change with the arrival of the Fiesta. The Figo, of course, opened the flood gates.

Now the opening of Ford Assured used car dealerships should take care of the few Doubting Thomases still around. Just shows how a foreign brand can tackle and win over the Indian market.

Fiat, are you listening ?

Ah Dhanush, tell me about it.
Being accustomed to the M&M/Maruti spares all these years, I almost fainted when the SA handed me over the brake master cylinder price list with labour @ Kairali Ford, Kochi, for the Ikon.
In the end, I quietly left the place without uttering a word and got the job done at an independent garage. You know the story better!!

Thats good news indeed! Does this means that we can trade-in our old Ford at the Ford Assured centre?

Considering the number of Ikons on sale for 1- 1.5L, this is a welcome move. It should help with the image of a used Ford.

Some comparisons to Maruti True Value
  • MUL offers the warranty for 1yr or 15k km.
  • MUL offers first 3 services free.

Yup that's a great move. Will help a lot when you go for trading your old car for a new car, or still better when you can trade your old car and get a higher segment pre-owned car by paying a little premium. It might just work out.
I so wish to buy a 1.6 motor ,either of Ikon , Fusion or Fiesta .May be can get a decent one at bargain

Re: Ford officially enters the pre-owned segment with "Ford Assured"

Great news,
Good that Ford is taking India very seriously, well that was expected as India took thier product seriously (a la Figo).

This will surely in an indirect way help out in improving thier sales.

But I would really want Ford to take a step ahead and introduce manufacture sponsored lease car company in the similar lines of thier Hertz in US.
This is surely an untapped market and will create a huge pipeline for cars like Fiesta also.

Its high time Ford thinks of this and get into this than being a laggard.

P.S I know Ford no longer owns Hertz but still has a stake in it.

Simple, you contact me because I am looking for one

Regarding the main topic, I remember having visited Ford Assured about 5yrs back. Now Lathangi Ford has their own 2nd hand business too but this is a good move.

Well said. And reduce some dept to dept paperwork at their service center. Way too much internal bureaucracy. Takes up customer's time.

I was waiting for this one.

So, should I be contacting the dealers in my city or is Ford Assured a separate organization?

I agree. Even if a job is attended to promptly, the customer ends up waiting for over half an hour just to get the bill generated. Also, the sheer volume which the dealers have to put up with these days is concerning.

Re: Ford officially enters the pre-owned segment with "Ford Assured"

I would like to see an online database of all of their cars they have for sale in a particular city.
Would help consumers a lot, as well as generate sales for themselves instead of a consumer going from one dealer to another to find out.
