Need to agree with this comment , HM needs to enhance on the basic structure and need to come up with something very innovative to stay .

The way the mahindras did by introducing the scorpios

Re: SCOOP : New HM Ambassador (CS Version)

A PS job on how it can look like by changing the hood, the front fender & bumper, shortening the boot, lowering the body and upsizing the wheels

Of course this is only possible in the digital world :P

Re: SCOOP : New HM Ambassador (CS Version)

A hatch back Amby would do a world of good. Needless to mention that there would be more space than any of today's available hatches.

ashutoshb please do a PS one.

The landy looks excellent here. HM should think in these lines of launching the new CS Amby with the landy tail.

Re: SCOOP : New HM Ambassador (CS Version)

The Amby has immense potential to create a retro market similar to the one created by the rejuvenated Mini. However, HM need to invest in better design and *** and try to position it as a quality product. The interiors should be comfortable too, they cannot seem/ feel old
They should try to utilise the goodwill before it runs out (as the next generation would not be so nostalgic about the Amby)
I hope for their sake they get it right

I am convinced now - HM is creating next-gen (little cheaper) taxi for West Bengal!

Ambassador reloaded!

Hi guys, just came across this article in another website. Thought of sharing in this forum.

=>
Ambassador, the oldest face of Indian automobiles, will undergo a complete change-from structural design to aerodynamics to aesthetics. The car's manufacturer, Hindustan Motors, is hoping that a new-look Amby will be able to compete with today's modern cars and thus stop a slide into oblivion. The revamp began last December, and it will be at least a year before the results become evident.

The Amby’s familiar rounded rear squab and curvaceous sloping hood will give way to an aerodynamic bonnet with straight lines and a new boot with integrated tail lights. The all-new Ambassador will have modern wrap-around headlamps, and a design somewhat similar to Maruti Suzuki's Swift.

The new Amby will also have new engine calibrations, an anti-lock brake system and aluminium alloy wheels. For comfort, there will be new leather seating with wood grain interiors. There will also be an integrated music system and instrument cluster catering to the needs of the new generation. But what will remain same are its traditional dependability, spaciousness and comfort. According to vendors involved in the makeover, the car will be totally transformed with a new design with better aerodynamics coming from a new architecture.

The changes are like (atleast in the photo shared); this wouldn't have drawn any attention if it was not masked
Poor man's Camouflage, han!

IMHO, something like the below would do wonders!

OMG! What a look! Will beat all cars hands down in the looks dept if HM were to design it like this! Thanks for the pic!

Re: SCOOP : New HM Ambassador (CS Version)

They are not seriously thinking of launching that!

What happened to all those reports "brand new car, styled by foreign designers"!This looks an Amby backed into a wall! pretty hard!

One is this CS version.,what are the rest of the variants.
Hope that this time HM does some real changes to the Amby and not mere cosmetics.

Good one cpbopanna!!

I want to see one on the road, not to observe the car but to meet the clown who bought this, once launched.
