Its clear that pictures are taken around Mumbai/Pune, you can see the BEST red bus. Also there are two of them, one clearly showing the Scout badge on back. Now I'm not claiming that its gonna launch on so and so date in India. Who knows it could be just on test for some bad terrain, rather then creating artificial terrain somewhere in Germany/Czech its quite economical to test it on our roads!

The point is something is cooking, and this thread exists on t-bhp forum!

came across this news story in Business Standard today.
Skoda India plans sub-Rs 10 lakh SUV
If it is indeed below 10L, it cannot be the Estate. If it is the rejigged Fabia like the one in Motorbeam (16", higher gc, 4x4!), perhaps we have the first true performance hatch in the country (although Skoda might like to call it a SUV). The Tank just gets more Tankier.

Ford Kuga/Eco sport would have been nice, but looks they come only beyond 2012.

While I understand it may not be in the same league, but will the Xylo CS version fall in the same category too?

Price wise if they have a 4x4 option, it may be the same.
But I also hear comments about 5-7L being the Xylo target. In that case definitely not in the same league.

Even if we forget the price, the build quality of Xylo-CS versus these guys would be something note even on the same table for scrutiny! Leagues apart!

The Scout versions of Fabia or Fabia Combi does not have 4X4. But Octavia scout has 4X4.

It might be the Sub 10 lac SUV from SKODA.
I read this information somewhere in the forum.
SKODA car is always a robust car, But the A*S*S in India ruined the name.

I am quite sure that the 2011 Fabia Scout have 4x4 option. I will find out and share the related link sometime later

I may be wrong.

But as per my knowledge Fabia does not have any 4X4 version yet. They may be working on it. And that could the so called small SUV for Skoda. After all they do have a 4X4 version for Octavia (Laura) and Superb

They should launch the Scout at 50k-60k more than the regular fabia.
Better tech specs and a GPS system should also be made available.

Even that a repaired one, see right below the left headlight. Guess test driver banged the car & they had to replace the same with a Fabia (non-Scout) one.

Who knows?
They just don't wanted to be spied so easily, so not putting those cladding on all test vehicles. Though one of the spied test Fabia Scout has the cladding as posted on OP.

The UK version of scout estate is a 4x4. But the GC is same, some cladding is added for protection.

There is no use of testing the car if it has only cladding and other cosmetic changes.
I guess there will be 4x4 but with the same engines which are tweaked slightly.
