re: 2011 / 2012 / 2013 Chevrolet Captiva

congrats again! she is a beauty!.....the only concenr I have is that the redisigned bumper seems to have reduced GC quite significantly.

we should meet up sometime and do a comparison of the two versions!

Sure, let's do that. Will have to live with the reduced GC,however I see myself driving this most of the time looking at the state of Gurgaon roads & the pliant ride quality. It looks like the 530d is going in the garage with the covers on for some time.

re: 2011 / 2012 / 2013 Chevrolet Captiva

GM India quietly introduces the Chevrolet Captiva facelift.

To quickly the round up all changes on the Captiva facelift, the model receives a new lower bumper at the front, a subtly different grille mesh, and reshaped foglamps.

The car’s rear features quickly recognizable changes which include new LED lights on the stoplight that look brilliant in the dark, and a redesigned bumper housing exhaust tips. The design of the 18-inch alloy wheels is new.
Differences are very minor to the interior where the updated car receives new seat fabric, a redesigned multimedia screen while higher trims also enjoy leather upholstery. Keyless start comes standard on the higher variants. The rear seat is heated and the ambient lighting is revisited.
The new 2.2L diesel engine which was showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo and subsequently launched in India was available only with an automatic transmission. However after this update, it can also be requested with a manual transmission that’s been updated to a more advanced 6-speed unit. The 2.0-liter diesel engine (the same unit which powers the Cruze) has been discontinued.

Chevrolet Captiva SUV facelift arrives onto GM India website

Link to News Section

General Motors India has updated its official website with details of the facelifted Chevrolet Captiva, an SUV that was unveiled at Korea, earlier this year. The 2013 Captiva SUV facelift comes with minor changes on the exterior and the interior, and these changes can be best described as a part of a mid life makeover.

2011 / 2012 / 2013 Chevrolet Captiva-2013-chevrolet-captiva-suv-facelift-1.jpg

The Captiva SUV facelift gets new front and rear bumpers, refreshed front grille, new fog lamps, LED tail lamps and a new design for the 17 inch alloy wheels. On the inside of the SUV, changes include new upholstery on the lower variants while higher variants get leather seats as was the case previously.

A new infotainment screen, heated rear seat and ambient lighting are the other changes on the facelifted model. The Captiva retains its 7 (5+2) seating capacity. Rain sensing wipers, cruise control, dual zone automatic climate control, electric parking brake, powered sun roof, push button start, heated wing mirrors and rear parking sensors are other prominent features on the SUV.

Safety kit on the SUV includes 6 airbags, ABS+EBD, traction control, ESP and hill descent control. The 2013 Captiva Facelift loses the 2 liter turbo diesel engine, which is replaced by the 2.2 liter diesel motor that outputs 186.5 PS of peak power and 424 Nm of peak torque.

The SUV is available with two transmission options, a 6 speed manual gearbox on the 2 wheel drive model and a 6 speed automatic gearbox on the 4 wheel drive model. General Motors India is yet to update the prices of the facelifted Captiva. However, a price tag does find a mention on the web page of the SUV, which suggests that it starts at 23.50 lakh rupees. This price could reflect the ex-showroom Delhi figure, for the 2 wheel drive, MT model.

re: 2011 / 2012 / 2013 Chevrolet Captiva

Wasn't this facelift launched last year itself? Or is this a face lifted version of the facelift?

This thread has launch details and owner's photos of the face lift so I'm not sure what exactly is new?

This should be a new facelift. Just today morning I came across the facelifted Captiva with the hexagonal grille. Its tail lights were distinctively different from the ones in these photos. The one I saw today had a round inset (probably reversing lamp) within the tail light assembly.

re: 2011 / 2012 / 2013 Chevrolet Captiva

Yeah, this is the new 2013 facelift (I don't know where GM is going with this), which differs subtly from the 2012 model. The most notable visual changes being the rectangular exhaust tips as opposed to the oval ones on the older model. Apart from that, I can see new bumpers and a new design for the tail-lamps.

re: 2011 / 2012 / 2013 Chevrolet Captiva

GM should assemble CAPTIVA in India. There are NO premium diesel engined SUV's available in Indian market except the Fortuner on 20-30 L budget. And So should Honda Bring its Cr-V with Diesel Engine to India.

re: 2011 / 2012 / 2013 Chevrolet Captiva

Does it use the same engine as the new Cruze? (ie GM's in house engine not VM)

Was so impressed with the BMW's Remap (link) that I also got my Chevy Captiva 2.2 remapped. The gains are about 20 percent on bhp & torque which makes it quite nimble & fun to push around as well.
