Honda India : The Way Forward

Honda to stop producing diesel engines in India from February 2023. Bets on Strong Hybrid (P) technology.

- HCIL is in the process of phasing out the Jazz, WR-V and City (fourth generation) in due course of time as the three models in their current generation are nearing their end of lifecycle

- Honda is working on bringing a brand-new compact SUV (codenamed: 3US) to the Indian market around the middle of 2023 to regain its market share.

- The new midsize SUV will come with both petrol and strong-hybrid powertrains.

Could it be the much anticipated but elusive mid- size SUV? I hope so!

Must say that they sent the invite quite late, for an event which is next day. That too without any mention of timing or link.

It must be the Honda City Face-lift announcement. That the most we can expect.

Well I just hope that it's something new, I would be disappointed if it's a facelift of the City Or Amaze, come on Honda, you should do something to save yourselves!

Wonder what are they thinking. An event at such short notice but, it may not make a difference if it's all digital. I have a feeling it's going to be the "shandaar" Amaze in the CNG format.

Well - To be frank, with respect to what is coming tomorrow, I don't expect even a facelift from Honda. This might be probably some new service/warranty offer for existing Honda buyers and nothing more. With this announcement just one day before, that is all I foresee. I will be happy to be proven wrong.

So this is not going to be the Honda HRV which was launched last year in many countries. Hope they showcase something good.
