Sipani Dolphin I was told was a pretty fun car. Its only that Sipani motors did not have the resources to carry things forward.

Has to be Omni.

I often wondered does it have any suspension
On highways, there is too much roll and minor braking could give you shivers.

Seems Omni is leading as the worst car on indian roads:

However, interestingly- it is 5th largest selling car (as of Oct. 2007) with 8,022 cars sold in a month!

I would say the worst car on Indian roads today is Maruti Swift. The so called new design is directly lifted from Mini cooper and to make ugly they add bums to the mini cooper roofline.

That contraption they call new design is an utter failure when they launched it in East asain countries, couple of years before they launched in India. I saw it in Malaysia and i hated it in the first look itself. I rate it the ugliest car available in the Indian market today.

Couple of years?

The swift debut was in the Paris Auto Show in Sep. 2004. In India, it was launched in May 2005. What couple of years difference?

Can you please tell which country Swift became a failure?

There are people who hate the looks, but then there are people who love the looks as well. The swift is one of the biggest success stories among recent launches, currently selling near to 8,000 cars a year.

The ugliest, dumbest car ever - the Omni. Has the worst interiors and exteriors, absolutely no safety features and worst of all - had to be a commercial vehicle but turned out to be an 8-seater!

What if I said Swift is one of the best looking cars in India, it was surprisingly well accepted in the developed world. Most people have only good things to say about the Swift. Some magazines pit the sports version of it directly with the Civic Type R etc. Only grouse being that in India most versions dont come with the right tyres. Well most stock cars come with bad tyres to start with.

vaspro, it is the worst car we're talking about, not the worst looking car. Besides, looks are subjective - if you find it to be ugly, you are very much entitled to your opinion.

I dont get it guys, how could you not make the ambys win this poll? they are slow, cant handle, cant brake, are noisy, belch smoke and make our cities unliveable. there are die hard amby fans in kerala who buy new ambys!!! and think a floor mounted gear shift is a modern accesory. these are alos the people who drive the new car straight to the workshop to do a complete strip down and re-welding of the body so that it does not fall apart at the first bump/ pothole
what infuriates me further is when people say(still) that the amby is the best car for indian roads.

DIE! DIE! DIE! please, just die!
