If my info is to be something to consider, then there are only 2 engines for New Jetta : 1.4 TSI and 2.0L TDI.

I think so. The Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7 and Touareg are close relatives, and share the same platform.

Folks- it looks as if GTO was right (elsewhere on the forum). VW is probably going to bring in a new 1.5 litre diesel since supplies of the much-in-demand 1.6 TDI are running severely short.

The 1.4 (or a smaller 1.2) TSI petrol engine may also be launched on the Polo/Vento in India, though not confirmed: fuel quality remains a major issue for the TSIs.

edit: There is already a Touareg 2011 spotted in Pune thread running- that discussion should probably be shifted there.

I think 1.4 TSi can revive the sales of petrol Vento. But the 1.2/1.4 TSi in a Polo will make the Polo 1.6 quite redundant.

There is no 1.5 Diesel in VW family anywhere yet.
There is no plan for TSi in Vento but yes, Polo GT will be launched with 1.2 TSi in 2012 end.

Absolutely...At the very first glance , I was wondering whether the same is VENTO or a JETTA...!!! IMHO , building the Product portfolio/family from VW perspective is really good , But there should be clearly a differentiating factor from One Product to another from both the interiors & exteriors perspective.

Hi GTO. Can you confirm whether the 1.4 / 1.8 tsi will be launched next month or will they be launched after a couple of months? A friend is interested in the present Jetta which the showroom guys are offering for 16lakhs on road. Not sure if its a Trendline or Comfortline.

Outside India, the normal polo runs on 1.2/1.4 TSI, and the Polo GTI have the 1.4 TSi 180ps engine. Not heard of Polo GTI heading towards India.

source cant be revealed but the info is authentic. Normal polo in India is with 1.2 MPI engine, while outside in EU it's 1.2 TSi. Same way Polo GTi will be 1.2 TSi and not 1.4 TSi as Indian market is not enough mature enough to digest that high cost.
Polo GTi version will probably replace 1.6L Polo.

Thanks for the info. It will be interesting to see them jack up the 1.2 TSI to a full-fledged GTi. I assume even that will be much more expensive than the current 1.6.
