i have driven both pd and cr engines in fact i had a laura pd 2007 and my cousin has a dsg laura model apr 2011 if i elaborate further then it will be off topic cheers

Has the new Yeti been launched. I saw an AD from Skoda yesterday where it showcased Fabia starting from 4.19 lakhs also Laura starting from 10.9 lakhs and it said Yeti with a new price of 13.99 lakhs.

Unfortunately not. I have also been looking forward to this for quite sometime now.

The 13.99 ex-showroom is the pricing of the ambient version under the skoda celeberations offer.

You never quite know what the folks at VW are upto!
The Jetta will always be priced higher than Laura, so why would somebody buy 1.4tsi 120bhp petrol Jetta over a 1.8tsi 160bhp Laura ?
They might launch the 1.4tsi next year but at what price point ?

The Jetta is not available with the 1.8tsi. It will most probably be the 160bhp 1.4. I'm surprised the editor of overdrive could make a mistake like that.

It makes more sense to debut 1.4l tsi engine in the top of the line vento, auto box and all, something similar to what Hyundai does. It will look visibly smaller under the hood for the jetta. Something that might unnerve the buyer. That coupled with competition offering 1.8l engines might turn the customer away.

Yes, i know Jetta is not available with the 1.8tsi petrol but i guess it will be eventually launched with that engine sometime later as its available in the Laura.
Also i thought the Vento will get the 1.4tsi. I did not know that 1.4 was available in 160bhp tune. Or will the Jetta get the 160bhp & the Vento 120bhp from the same engine ?

For fuel efficiency. Got that this one delivers 15-16 Kmpl with comparable power.

This should be the 1.4TSI with 122bhp. According to the dealer in my town, this is to come early next year.

Its not available anywhere in the world with the 1.8, so no question of them launching it here.

I don't think the Vento will get a tsi anytime soon, maybe I'm wrong.
