Wow!
Indeed taillights nothing but mahindra, however headlights seem to a bit LR types.

I guess the taillights must be to fool all the scoopsters (because it makes very less sense for mahindra to go for completely new head along with the legacy tail)

So this might be the new Safari (with LR headlights)

Where did you spot it? What was the registration number(TR)?

To me, it looks like the new Force Motors SUV or an import. I m pretty sure it is not the new Tata Safari or the W. Those headlamps and tail lamps are misleading parts of the car.

Sorry, it is an Autocar India pic. Didnt observe it earlier.

Wheels also seems from mahindra only...

Looking at the Land rover head lamps, it indeed looks like the next generation Tata Safari. The looks from the front also reminds me of the current Safari

The front hood and grill gives resemblance to either Ford or Tata.

The tail lights are definitely Mahindra lineage which can just be an attempt
to confound the scoopsters.
A guess can be made about the manufacturer if we can pin point the location of this testing vehicle.

The wiper seems like it would clear a very small part of the rear glass . Straight line view from the RVM would not be possible it seems - specially evident from the last picture.

My hunch is that it aint a Safari because of missing spare wheel anchor at the back - i.e check out the number plate placement. Would be shocking if Tata omits this Safari trait.

I know its a long shot, but it might be Ford's next SUV.Well, publicly they have announced no plans as yet for another SUV, but the sales of Fortuner which sells atleast 3-5 times more than Endeavour every month might have overwhelmed Ford to bring on another BIG SUV to garner a higher share.
Or it could be the Force's premium SUV.

All of it will be idle speculation till the TR number is posted - that will be the real giveaway

Its MH14. Google suggests it is Pimpri Chinchwad and Force Motors is located there.

I thought that the next generation Safari will not have the spare wheel mounted on the tail gate.

A few observations:

From the second image, the license plate at rear says

ON TEST
MH 14 TC XX

also, the same image, to the left of where the watermark(www.) starts, one can see taillights extending even more onto the body which means its not Mahindra.

in the 3rd frontal pic, the front emblem, if we see carefully, right above the 'r' of autocarindia we can see a thin line forming 'F' which could mean force motors. It may be an impression but that's what i think it is.

Also, there is a twin silencer coming out of SUV which I am not sure is there in Mahindra's world SUV

Just my opinion. Could be wrong though.

Tata might be having plans to develop an affordable high performance SUV in collaboration with land rover.

Front end does look like safari.

Most probably its a Mahindra. I spotted it just outside Nashik on Sunday (Jul 11). FYI - Mahindra has a huge facility at Igatpuri.
