I would very highly doubt it. Force has been claiming all along that this vehicle is all about building its brand in the personal segment. Making it a fleet vehicle would nullify this whole exercise IMO

Does it make sense to pay 12L + and grab this for commercial use? Why wouldn't someone buy Innova?

Though for the size of it pricing looks good but IMO they could have launched something similar to Foday Explorer 6 and not the Explorer III.

Here is Explorer 6. Pics from Foday website.

Looks rather good from outside. Wonder how the final combo of Merc engine + Lotus suspension + misc Chinese parts will turn out to be.

Two units !!!
Maybe even he doesn't trust the car, so bought two so that one will become a back up. Also the parts can be interchanged if anything is found to be defective.

Another company trying to fool indians by launching a cheap n cheerful chinese leftover vehicle!

Big B, im sure was gifted these two vehicle and would be used by his driver and cook's family!

anyway coming back to the vehicle, it would be a big hit among the taxiwalas and the rural brigade.

certainly anything cheap in india, sells! so expect this chinese leftover to make a impact on the sales.

my personal view on the vehicle....FM could have done a better job than CUT & PASTE from china!

Precisely. First it was the Sumos, then Scorpios and also Innovas being grabbed for taxi use. Now Xylos too. So why wouldn't anyone get the "One" and use it for taxiing? Any MUV kind of vehicle, in the 10L - 15L has buyers in the commercial segment.

Thanks everybody who saw RushLane's live coverage of the launch event. :-)

BTW In my opinion, the car is priced good for what it has to offer. Nice sturdy look, basic features and value for money.

Have you seen the SUV in person? Fit and finish looks on in photos. IMHO, lets wait for someone to test drive it rather than badge it as some cheap chinese contraption ( comeon, Lenovo is chinese so is many other stuff we use today).

Lets see how a 11lac Ex-showroom, 2500kg,141bhp no-ABS, no airbag SUV does though. Didnt Sumo sell a lot when it was called a bread box IRC?

They shouldnt have pushed the launched without ABS/Airbag; people look at safety these days a lot. Guess they wanted to get some customers who has waited for new Scorpio/Safari.

re: Force Motors SUV to be launched. EDIT: Launched @ 11lac Ex-showroom Mumbai

Looks are a matter of personal taste. Too mee I am saddened by the looks. Engine and suspension bits are a good bet as they are tried and tested. However lack of the safety features will put the customer down. As the market has graduated to that level.

The quality tough looks good in the picture. the Force one logo on the front bottom looks out of place. Why clutter with 3 logos on front.

As for the it being used for commercial segment. Well even Toyota Fortuner, Mercedes are also available as a Taxi. And as such me think will be used for the niche segment which will be very less numbers.

The main thing going with Indica and Logan who were not designed as a taxi use in first place was their usp of frugalness in consuming fuel.

The current vehicle if at all enters taxi segment will remain low key and in niche segment.

fit and finish always looks good in photos (remember how females models look good in photos, or are made to look good with photoshops)!

yes the vehicle in question is an outdated piece of metal, put together by FM, who im sure must have bought in the product at a very cheap cost.

im not sure if the vehicle is being assembled in india or manufactured 100% in india.

and the announcement that Big B "BOOKED" two vehicles shows the desperation of FM!

this vehicle can even compete with Safari/Scorpio duo!

Sumo sold because there was no competition! the Sumo Grande is not setting sales charts on fire!

re: Force Motors SUV to be launched. EDIT: Launched @ 11lac Ex-showroom Mumbai

I am surprised that most of us here still believe that everything from china equals cheap and poor quality.

most of the high quality toys / products etc. brought from USA or UK are all China made. The car in question here looks good (though the grill is not going well IMO) - has decent interiors (not a fan of the wood finish though) and has a very capable engine. What if it's a chinese design?
Price IMO is apt for what you are getting. Remember the days before the extreme low end and no frills SUVs? they were costing as much - or even a bit more as far as I remember. Times have changed, prices have gone up drastically and still they have priced the vehicle well. All of us were anticipating it to be in a 12-15 Lacs bracket. and the price of Rs. 10.65 Lacs was a pleasant surprise.

i hope they come up with the ABS + Airbags version soon with an option of getting rid of the wood finish interiors. might end up buying it as the engine as we all know is a gem.

+1 on the looks part. What really would win the game for Force would be at the heart of the matter meaning the power plant, the Daimler unit mated to the Mercedes gearbox does sound reassuring and may draw in even the sceptical lot into the show rooms. On paper seems to be good value for the bulk, have to see how it does on our roads as a complete package facing the biggest tests of TIME and A$$!

His cook/etc might be taking home more than few you and I know. Lucky them then eh?

The Force One's competition is of course the Safari and Scorpio rather than Rhino/Sumo/Bolero .

Just wait for review or inputs from people who have seen/driven the vehicle IMHO; thats what I meant.

Pray that Force dont fail on a project they just spend 150Cr. Appreciate their effort to give us something.

We always can compare this with Rio if all else fails

@ jkdas / samyakmodi

At least some guys are talking sense here.

We all worship Honda's but how many of us know that many critical parts are sourced from Thailand?

I am not saying that Force One is the best SUV to tread the earth but it is funny how somebody can write the epitaph for a vehicle even before seeing it in flesh?
