If the face lift is not significant and is priced higher, you have an option to go for the previous version which shall be at some discount.

If the face lift is significant, then makes sense to pay more and get the latest.

Either ways existing model will be at a discount. Considering, Honda is not giving any further discount on the City right now.

Cheers

Re: Honda to revamp 'City' sedan?

"The Honda City seems to have recovered in sales post the price cut by the company. The City was the second highest seller in the segment (selling 4092 units aginst the Verna’s 4724 units). The Fluidic Hyundai Verna is available in both petrol and diesel versions with a wide range of variants, offering a variety of options to the buyers. The Honda City has managed to sell very good numbers in July, considering it is available only with a petrol engine. Now Honda plans to launch a facelifted version of the City in October this year."
The Honda City facelift will feature slight changes to both the interiors and exteriors with the addition of new features. The new features will help the City rival the increasing onslaught from other automakers such as Volkswagen and Ford. These features will help Honda mask the lack of diesel option in the City, till a diesel variant comes along in 2013.

Cheers!

Re: Honda to revamp 'City' sedan?

When we keep discussing the diesel variant of the City, i think its safe to say that the next gen city will get the diesel heart in 2013. I think the City will be over 5 years old in 2013.

Re: Honda to revamp 'City' sedan?

The current gen City will turn five year old in September 2013. So the diesel City is still 2 years away.

I sincerely hope the face-lift should not hamper the clean look of the car as it is on the current variant.

Things will be much clear if any spy pic is posted/found on net.

Advice to Honda on how to move forward, how to improve the sales etc etc :-)
Unfortunately, team-bhp's unbiased attitude towards car manufacturers seems to be going down a bit.

Looks like our site is becoming an "unofficial" Honda site.

As far as it suits everyone, it's perfectly OK.

Hope I don't get an infraction for this

Not sure if this has been reported. The revamped version will have inbuilt GPS.

Even Google says the same!

The Indian subsidiaries of Asian car giants Suzuki, Honda and Hyundai are the most searched car makers on the internet here, while Volkswagen and Fiat from Europe found berths at the bottom of a list by Google.
According to Google India's Auto Industry Report released today, vehicle-related search volume grew 110 per cent and 84 per cent (year-on-year) in 2009 and 2010 respectively on Google Search.

"The report shows how crucial the Internet has become in influencing purchase decisions of the consumers. More and more people are now online to research on new launches, price comparison, viewing specifications, etc," Google India Vice- President and MD Rajan Anandan told reporters here.

This has resulted in the players in the auto vertical increasing their digital advertising spends to engage car and bikes shoppers online, he added.

As per the report that considered the period between January 2010 and May 2011, Google said Maruti Suzuki was the most searched car maker in India. It was followed by Honda Siel Cars and Hyundai Motor.

The 4th most searched car maker was US giant General Motors' Indian arm. Homegrown Tata Motors found place at the 5th position. Toyota and Ford were placed at the 6th and 7th positions, respectively, Google said.

The list comprising nine top searched car firm placed Volkswagen and Fiat at the 8th and 9th slot, respectively.

Did anyone else notice the additional controls on the steering wheel? Is that for Bluetooth or Cruise Control?

Re: Honda to revamp 'City' sedan?

This is likely to be a mid-life upgrade, so do not expect many changes in the sheet metal. What I hope for is all round discs (the VTec Mk. I and II had it), Climate Control (now it is there even in some A-segment cars) and additional power points (one each in the cabin and boot) will form part of the upgrade.

Paddle shifters I guess, the photo being that of an automatic version. And yes, possibly cruise control, not sure about bluetooth though. Also, audio controls for the ICE.

AFAIK, Honda does not offer both cruise control and steering mounted audio controls together. The City (V & S) offers steering mounted audio controls while the Civic (V - AT) had only cruise control no audio controls. Apparently they (Honda) say providing both leads to confusion among users and more often than not they use the opposite.

That is possibly true here in India; the photo that I posted was the East European version of the sedan. That is offered with ACC and CD Player by default.

Honda's India strtegy seems to be strangely different in quite a few counts - at times it feels as if they consider this to be a market where they can get away by offering less from more/same price.

Re: Honda to revamp 'City' sedan?

Came across this site, which says that the facelift city would come in October this year!

Any other info regarding the changes? From the picture posted on the ACC version, could see the Cruise control buttons. Will we be getting that in this model, any idea?
