Re: Maruti Sales Fall For the First Time Since 2008

I believe this is mainly due to the the strike. Maruti still has popular cars for the masses. Also, they are not lagging behind like Honda in the 'paradigm shift' to Diesel.

Not saying that the overall quality has not gone down.

Re: Maruti Sales Fall For the First Time Since 2008

The only reasons:

1. A week long strike in Manesar plant.
2. A week long shutdown for maintenance in both the Manesar and Gurgaon plants.

Re: Maruti Sales Fall For the First Time Since 2008

As per current scenario, Sales fall due to strike is already factored in stock price of maruti. Today's downfall in stock price was just a nee jerk reaction and was also due to profit booking after full week rally. Lets see how figures come out next quarter.

Re: Maruti Sales Fall For the First Time Since 2008

clearly the strike as well as planned weekly shut down have affected Maruti's sale. This has come at the right time for the competition like Verna, Vento and city as well.

GTO when can we get the june sales nos?

Did we ever find out how they resolved the strike?
More importantly (and as an investor in MSIL), why did it take so long?
