This article says that the next generation SX4 may come with 1.4L K-series and 1.6L DDiS engines.

IMO, it's good if it comes with these new engines. Will save the Petrol version and boost the Diesel version.

But, IMO, in terms of design, SX4 has to be modified a bit to keep it in the real sedan category than in SUV-ish sedan category:

1. Need to redesign the front doors so that the front quarter glass is get rid off.
2. The extra-bulging rear bumper has to be trimmed.
3. The overall height of the car has to be reduced a bit.

So this means the Linea, Punto and the Manza would too get this 1.6 mjd engine. Now the Linea with the 1.6 mjd will be the car to beat if and when that happens. I have read somewhere that it has more torque than the 1.6TDI unit of VW.
