Re: 2011 Tata Indica Vista face-lift Caught Testing

While they were busy transferring parts from Manza over to this, I wish they'd have carried the dashboard too!

Agree with some of the posts above - the front looks kinda odd.

Re: 2011 Tata Indica Vista face-lift Caught Testing

Front looks odd. Preferred the older version. Severely under tyred but this can be corrected. Hope they have re tuned the suspension. The Indica is a boat to drive and can never expect to compete with the Swift on the fun to drive quotient.

I think Tata would have given a commitment to purchase X no. of dashboard pieces from the component manufacturers and once these are bought I guess we can see the Manza dashboard in the second facelift. I guess they need to do this to make them invest in new moulding die or whatever.

My 2 cents, I could be 100% wrong !

Not necessarily. Dashboard re-design requires structural changes that may not be possible or even desirable. Here is my prediction - Vista will always have the center display - unless it is a complete platform change.

By the way, I have driven the car for nearly 7 months and I somehow like the center console !!

Re: 2011 Tata Indica Vista face-lift Caught Testing

So whats new in Indica Vista?
  • TATA drops "Indica" name & calls it TATA Vista.
  • Interior fit and finish is now much better, the two-tone scheme looks nice, panel gaps have been tightened and the soft-touch surfaces on the dashboard are good.
  • The steering wheel now gets wheel-mounted audio controls too.
  • Power mirrors
  • Vista’s interior ambience is very acceptable and better than say the Liva.
  • Excellent space and comfort.
  • The face-lifted Vista uses the same 1.3 Quadrajet engine from the old car
  • The clutch now feels more progressive and easy to modulate in traffic. This makes the Vista easier to drive on daily city commutes and the gearshifts are slicker too now.
  • The brakes which feel a lot better, thanks to a larger 10-inch brake servo that’s been introduced.
  • The steering has better feel too, thanks to tweaks to the hydraulic valves in the power steering system.

That's a good news but I'm searching for any Official coverage or any Official updated website, but still unable to come across one.

Can anyone post here the direct link of its Company website or Official launch or its e-brochure.

Hey guy, Either you are AMEYA DANDEKAR or you got a pre-release edition of Today's "The Hindu" [Metro plus review of New Vista].
Reference - The Hindu : FEATURES / METRO PLUS : New Vistas

Except the first bullet that you mentioned [which is not true, "indica" is still there, but small], rest all are the exact phrase used in its review today

Few phrases that attracted the most - comparison with Liva, Clutch, Steering feel.

Prem.

Dont know what was printed in The Hindu, but I see all but the first phrase are directly copied from the Autocar First Drive review, that had been linked in the post above by "powertrain". My guess is Hindu too copied from the Autocar post, may be even with permission.

Thanks for summarising the Autocar report well, but at least give them the credit.

Ad in today's marathi news paper (Sakal)!
They are definitely not using name "Indica" at least in ads!

I think they should have renamed it long ago and similar renaming should happen to Manza.

Thanks for the update swiftnfurious

Thats exactly my point - Give the credit where it should go. I didnt make it explicit since the person is a "senior" here.

You are right, But, I usually dont read ACI. So, I didnt realise it !
Its kind of outsourced for its content in "The Hindu".

Re: 2011 Tata Indica Vista face-lift Caught Testing

JK and Swiftnfurious... The renaming has not happeend yet. Last week, i went down to the dealer's place to check the new baby out, and Indica still figures in the badge. Only, Indica is at font 7, while vista is on font 12 in the older variant, the font sizes were more leaning towards the Indica. that's all.
