Even S class is Unsafe

Picked this from Palio Users Group

A tragedy happened in my circle where the guy crashed in his Merc. He was
driving in S Class Mercedez from Chandigarh to Delhi when we swerved to save
a pedastrian on the road (he was driving at 150 Kmph). The car went out of
control and crashed into the tree. All 6 airbags opened up but since the car
got stuck up in the tree, it took about an hour to extradite him out of the
car. He died meanwhile. The friends (about 10 cars in total) called him up
on his mobile and warned him to drive slow but he answered "Don't worry, I
am driving an S Class."

So guys!! Even an S Class does not guarantee you life.

DRIVE SLOW.

Gaurav

At 150kmph when you hit something standing as firmly as a tree then no airbag can save your life. The impact probably would have been so great that he would have suffered a vital organs failure (even a heart seizure). Are you sure some airbags did not blast in the impact thus rendering them useless?

The fact is people drive recklessly and then blame the cars. I believe no one in his sane mind has any business running at speeds like 150kmph. At such speeds it has been proven beyond doubt the reaction time as well as the spatial orientation goes for a complete toss. Any last minute panic input to steering to control the car will only lead to massive oversteer. I suspect at such speeds even hi-tech like EBS, ABD etc will all fail. i am sure everything has a tolerance level.

I mean errr realistically you cant expect an airbag to save you if your speed is 150kph can you ? If anyone does, then surely he doesn't know much about cars/safety and good driving.

Like we discussed in the other topic... animals crossing the road... and blown away by cars.
To do that to human beings is a hard decision to make in a fraction of a second. By what I understand... the pedastrian was at fault. Say the car blows away the pedastrian ... probably the driver would be safe in but in jail. (but pedastrian can kill and walk off)

Ok, the car was way above speed limit.... but even on 90km/h the official.. speed limit .... an impact with a tree can be deadly.

crash..

most crash tests are carried out at 40mph (~ 60kmph).

if you're driving at 150kmph then you better not be laying your hope on safety gear to get you out of a smash without a scratch.

Travelling at 150 kph and it makes no sense in blaming the car and no car's safe at that speed.

Whoa! I thought S-class should at least keep a guy alive in a crash at 150!!!

Hmmm thats a pretty big shock, a cause for his death may have been the delay is rescuing him....

Hi,

P.S. : if this news is of 1 week ago then the real news is this:

I know about this incident and there was no guy who was driving the car. My father knows the guy and he was one of the most known and one of the richest person in CHD. The person died of heart attack acually.

If the news i m referring to is not being discussed here then i all i can say no car is safe. Man even Princess diana dies in car accident.

So i think no car is safe enough. When u have to die to have to die no matter at that time you are driving HUMMER.

Thanks.

He mustn't have been wearing the seatbelts.

At high speeds , no car is safe especially on Indian Roads.
