No. This feature seemed to be not there in the Swift.

Cheers!

Same here - our 2009 Dzire VDI too has seen the better side of 160km/h often!

And what about 60:40 split backseat and any significant improvement in boot space?

Ditto, I have 185/70/R14 and I have touched 180's on some stretches although after 170 its a slow progress but it does get there. 160 is a breeze.

I found this news link on ndtv.com

Maruti Suzuki will soon launch a new generation of the Swift hatchback. The last Swift arrived in mid-2005, and was followed by a diesel version in 2007.The hatchback sold over 6 lakh 6 thousand units! The new car already has over 40,000 bookings before its actual debut. Here's a look.

Guyz

Any news on the A/T version? I had read and heard that MSIL will be launching an A/T petrol version too. That would be the best A/T hatch in the market.

Re: MSIL discontinues old swift, begins production for all new model for August launc

The diesel mill still produces the peak torque at 2000 RPM & the ABS is not there on VDi version. These are the only grouses from the new Swift that I may have at any time, but, definitely (as per auto-mags) the interiors are better than ever & more roomy, which are the best part of this model change. And the all black interiors are also easy to maintain as compared to it rivals' beige offerings.

Hopefully that price difference won't be much (~Rs.30K IMO), lest the diesel Swift may find the i20 diesel a tough competition to best on a month on month basis.

Nice pictures there. MRF tyres are a big disappointment though. Seat covers seem to be a must - the fabric lined seats look quite ordinary!

I love the interiors and the new Grey colour. But the car doesn't seem to be having split seats at the rear, which is a shame!

First pic says it all. No start/stop, no dead pedal.

8L+ for the ZDi seems little tad too high since that will put it right bang in the middle of the Sedan segment. What pricing can one then expect for the Dzire ZDI? 10L? Dont think there will be too many takers for such prices then.
The price of the new Dzire will depend on whether the current Dzire will be continued or not. If the current Dzire is to be continued then the new Dzire with less than 4M length will be expected to be cheaper than the current Dzire.

On road price of current Dzire ZDI is around 8.65L in bangalore. So, the new one might be at least 30K cheaper. If it enters 9L+, then it is close to the price of SX4 VDI. So, IMO new Dzire ZDI should be around 8.4L in bangalore. Also, it depends on how Toyota prices the diesel Etios.

AutocarIndia first drive-
All-new Swift review, test drive Review

Good news-
Quote:
Ride and handling is substantially improved. Turn-in is sharp, there’s grip to spare and body roll is progressive enough. The ride quality is much improved in terms of bump absorption over big road undulations and the car feels less fidgety at highway speeds as well.
And from Overdrive-
http://www.overdrive.in/story-first_...n-43102-0.html
Quote:
The dashboard design is all new and very modern. Quality of materials and fit and finish are very good.
Bad news-
Quote:
Surprisingly, the diesel has lost its strong mid-range and we found ourselves downshifting more often than we did before.

None of the reviews discuss on the split rear seats. Is it really there or not? @BunnyPunia, can you answer this?
