Re: MSIL discontinues old swift, begins production for all new model for August launc

Vdi/Vxi should have got ABS options and should have come with music systems.

However, I see more Swifts! Killer pricing it is for sure but any hike IMHO will not be justified that too with this feature set.

Re: MSIL discontinues old swift, begins production for all new model for August launc

To get an idea of the Swift ZDI pricing in Bangalore, the Swift Dzire VDI retails for 6.39 ex-showroom bangalore and is 7.66 OTR bangalore.
Break-up as follows:
ex-showroom: 6.39
Road tax:99k
Insurance:16k
Other exp & extended warranty: 10k

So i think if there's no change in ex-showroom prices between Bangalore and Delhi, Swift ZDI should be 7.66 OTR. In two minds about my booking

Will have to see how many takers are there for the ZDI version at this price point. This will be rather expensive on Road on Bangalore at least. Where is the Team-BHP review now that unveiling an all that stuff has been done?

Knee air bags would make a total of 4 air bags then? Right?

I am sticking with my booking, the introductory price has me confused. im sure it would increase later. assuming, as i don see it coming down anyways

Re: MSIL discontinues old swift, begins production for all new model for August launc

Does the LDI and VDI both have the tachometer now?

Another suggestion to all fellow bhpians, MSIL is cheating customers royally by asking for 15-16k for insurance, they say its Maruti insurance tied up with royal sundaram offerring cashless facility.

Please buy the royal sundaram insurance directly from royal sundaram website at the same IDV value and you get cashless at any maruti dealer and roadside assistance program free for 1 year. Online offer is about 5-6k cheaper than what salesman will offer you at the dealership.

Please save this 5-6k on insurance and use this money for other stuff.(No V.E and its full comprehensive cover, no catches or limitations what so ever).

Cheers

Down south the ZDI variant OTR will for sure be more than 7 lakhs. IMO, anything more than 6.5 lakhs for a hatch is not marutis territory.

Would buyers be ready to spend 60-75k for the ZDI over the ford figo titanium diesel?

7.6 Lacs for Swift in Bangalore
I must be out of my mind to buy this... Agreed Swift is more or less cult car of our generation BUT im not convinced to spend 7.6 lacs for the top end !!!
All of a sudden, Polo 1.5 Diesel is looking more delicious.

Do you think this will be in the near future (by end 2011)?

Cheers!

Re: MSIL discontinues old swift, begins production for all new model for August launc

For approx 80K more, one will get the following in the ZDi over the VDi.
  1. ABS+Airbags+EBD
  2. Brake Assist (If this the booster, and if the L/V doesn't have it, that's just too bad)
  3. Seat belt pretensioner + Seat belt Height adjust for front passenger
  4. Driver seat height adjust
  5. Alloys + bigger tyres
  6. Outside temp. display
  7. Audio system with steering controls
  8. Electromagnetic Boot opener
  9. Rear wash/ wipe + defogger
  10. ACC
Edit: Fill me in if I have missed out on any. I am trying to make a case for ZDi myself

The http://www.marutiswift.com/lowbandsite/ is a mess! Wonder who designed it. Btw, the new TVC is in there too.

It seems MSIL was in quite a hurry to launch the website. Its filled with errors:

MSIL discontinues old swift. EDIT : New Swift LAUNCHED!-goofup.jpg

And the features they have listed are quite funny.

I am sure in a couple of months, there would be the standard 30 to 50k off on the Swift too just as its for other Maruti petrol models. Diesels ya there may not be any discounts.

The economy is getting too weak to justify any price rises going forward. Discounts will be inevitable for sure.

Cheers

Re: MSIL discontinues old swift, begins production for all new model for August launc

Prices out finally!!!
Maruti Swift relaunched at a starting price of Rs 4.22 lakh - The Economic Times

Introductory prices Rs4.22 - 6.38 lakh (Delhi- Exshowroom)

seem a bit higher than what I expected. Lets see how the market reacts. Am planing to check one out soon and if dad too likes it would book it on the spot.

peace,
~kg
