Sad that blue has been removed. I had planned to book a Jazz in that colour. Good news on the price front .30K increase is ok.That said, the ones who picked up the Jazz on hearing about the discount have got a good deal seeing that there are no new features.

AT (CVT) has 1.4 L engine and that could be one of the reason why they may not launch it here.

I may not be aware, but what does engine capacity have to do with the CVT? Internationally they may have the car selling with a 1.4L, but what stops them from using the same box for the 1.2L offering in india.

Normally the automatic transmissions are designed to work with an engine or a range of engines. If it has been specifically designed to work with 1.4 or 1.5, it may not work well with 1.2. In any case the AT/CVT with 1.2 will be very sluggish.

Some more updates. Got a call from crystal Honda in Pune.
1. Car will be launched on 16th August
2. OTR in Pune between 7.15 to 7.5
3. Interiors will be Beige ( similar to what I heard from Apex Honda in Mumbai, so seems to be true)
4. No new features

Anyone interested in a test drive, they still have the old Jazz available for a TD.

I am not sure, but once he told me that only the Select version in very limited quantity is launched now and after which all variants would arrive. And one other ASM in the same dealership told that the quantity arriving is only 20. I am sure he is poor in mathematics.

I guess if there is a mismatch then yes, it would not work well.

However the i10 A/T has no such probs (of being sluggish) despite being mated to a 1.2 engine. If Honda does bring the CVT/AT version of the Jazz, I'm sure it would be matched to the engine perfectly and would work efficiently.

IMO, the dealers are just guessing the launch date and have no clue on the modifications or variants of the face lifted Jazz!

However, most seem to have a fair idea if not the exact date. i would say sometime in the week starting 15th Aug.

Lets hold on till there is some official word from Honda.

I will not be too surpised if an AT surfaces soon. The 1.2l engine size barrier has been breached by many now, FIAT, VW, Hyundai i20, etc. If we get it then it may be the original plan of the 1.5l engine, with (this is my guess) a CVT (as on City Mk.II).
