Re: New Jaguar XF Diesel only 35 lakhs!

The 530d is around 57lacs OTR Pune. The A6 Tdi goes beyond that.
So, dont really see the 3.0L XF being far more expensive than the 530 or the A6.

Re: New Jaguar XF Diesel only 35 lakhs!

51lacs for CKD is pretty high considering the full CBU version was 53lacs. It used to come up to about 64lacs OTR Mumbai, maybe now its a few lacs less.

Re: New Jaguar XF Diesel only 35 lakhs!

The 530d, A6 3.0TDI & E350CDI all carry price tags over 50L, ex showroom, so 51L seems fair game to me.

Discounts are there for all these top- end cars, since the 220CDI/ 2.0TDI/ 520d versions sell more, and the manufacturers & dealers want to have balanced sales mix. And it varies from state to state.

All these companies only sell the priceir top- end versions at launch- they are targeted at the "mine- is- first" crowd. After 6 months or so, they start to launch cheaper and smaller / detuned engine variants and then start discounts on higher variants. You come in to test drive a 520d, hear about the discount on 530d, the sales guy offers another test drive on that also, the finance guy then illustrates how "insignificant" the difference in EMI is, and you think, "What the Hell?".

Nothing wrong as such, but that's how things pan out many a time.

Oh, this strategy, according to a friendly sales guy, works best on people upgading from C/ A4/ 3. They are usually unimpressed by the lower spec engines. People upgading from lower segments, like Laura/ Corolla owners are impressed by 2.0 engines, and see the larger engined variants as unnecessary.

The OTR will be less now since road tax for CBUs in MH is a lot higher than CKDs (Almost double I think).

What's the facelift the article is talking about? Did'nt they launch the facelifted version with the 3.0 engine just last year. If it really is an updated version, I hope they do something about the drab interiors. The only reason I didnt go for this over the 5 series were the totally uninspiring interiors. They look like something out of a 90's ford.

In their over-enthusiasm they seem to have got that wrong!
The facelift was launched last year as rightly stated by you. The car is a looker though with nice looking wheels.

Re: New Jaguar XF Diesel only 35 lakhs!

Autocar India drives the new Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel. Link

The most affordable Jaguar in India is about to be launched, and I expect to see a hell lot more of these on the roads now. Rs.44.5 Lakhs (ex-showroom Navi Mumbai) is not at par with the german trio, but there is more kit as standard. And this one is CKD, so the OTR wont be off the roof.

Reverse camera, paddle-shifters, sat-nav, a sunroof (which wasn't available with the XF all this while) are all welcome additions.

Awaiting launch & the Official T-Bhp Review

Re: New Jaguar XF Diesel only 35 lakhs!

With the other German trio offering massive discounts (assuming 3-5 lakh off OTR depending on stock and season) on the 4 cylinder models, the Jag would be priced about 8 lakhs OTR over the rival 4 cylinder models which makes a case as for a couple more maybe you could buy the 6 cylinder models from the rival german trio. This would ensure that the XF still wont be playing a volume game to beat the competition. However it will still give existing sales some boost in India especially after the launch of the near 2 Crore RR and negligible Jaguar sales.

This is assuming that jag 2.2 wont have any discounts to start with.

Re: New Jaguar XF Diesel only 35 lakhs!

Now-a-days I am seeing a lots of Jaq's on road (Bangalore). Atleast one in a day or two (most of the times no repeated vehicle number). Was wondering whether it is very affordable or people have become filthy rich
