Re: Cruze Updates in pipeline: EDIT: Launched with new engine

The mileage has increased slightly, as reported by autocar the new cruze MT gives 10.8 kmpl and 15.7 kmpl in city and highway respectively against the old cruze which gave 10.3 kmpl and 14.8 kmpl respectively.

The link to the autocar review is New Chevrolet Cruze review, test drive and video | Review | Autocar India (This has been posted on the forum earlier as well).

Thanks for the info on real world mileage. I see the ARAI figure of 17.6 for new Engine car (www.ecardlr.com), can you also point out how much was the ARAI figure for old Engine car? On Vicky.in I saw a figure of 14 KMPL? Not sure whether the ARAI numbers have really improved by almost 20%

The old Cruze brochure shows a fuel efficiency of 17.3 kmpl for the manual. I guess it would be ARAI figure only.

As per Autocar India the older car hit the ton mark in 9.64 sec and new one is 10.22 sec.

Re: Cruze Updates in pipeline: EDIT: Launched with new engine

With the resources available to GM it's sad that even after such a gap they could'nt "finish" the job atleast where the performance of this car is concerned even with it's earlier version. They could atleast have done an engine upgrade that was in a "complete" way equal if not superior to it's earlier offering. Just goes to show how silo based and slow large OEM's can be. I'm sure if they really put an effort this new engine/gearbox combination would have been a superior performer in all aspects than the current one.

It just leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

Re: Cruze Updates in pipeline: EDIT: Launched with new engine

Here are the prices(OTR) for the new Cruze in Bangalore.

LT - 17.33L
LTZ - 18.47L
LTZ AT - 19.59L

Add about 12K extra for Diamond White color. LT gets some extra features and its the VFM variant.
I have also attached a change content which describes the changes compared to the earlier version.
I have attached the price list. It gives the old price also. They might have some more older versions with them and hence the price list has the previous version.

The sales person said that for the LT version, its the introductory offer and it will increase in the near future. Dont know how true it is.

Re: Cruze Updates in pipeline: EDIT: Launched with new engine

Oops! Rs.20L for the top-end Cruze! Somehow I have trouble picturing the Cruze as a Rs.20L car. About 15-16L sounds about right. I guess it's the same customer mentality that is being discussed in the other thread about D1-segment sedans.

The new LT seems to have almost the same features as the old LTZ - minus the sunroof. It is surely the most VFM variant available.

Re: Cruze Updates in pipeline: EDIT: Launched with new engine

There is bluetooth but dunno about phone controls.

To me it's a let down. Expected a touchscreen entertainment system and may be optional xenon projectors at least.

I don't even see any facial changes! Correct me if I am wrong guys.

You are right. I read in MotorBeam that its just old car(design-wise) with new engine. Apparently the facelifted Cruze is available in some international markets but Chevy India chose not to bring the facelifted version but just the engine changes with some additional features.

Car is a stunner IMO, but 3 years is bit too long for a premium car to not get a facelift.

Re: Cruze Updates in pipeline: EDIT: Launched with new engine

"327Nm @ 2,600rpm to a whopping 380Nm @ 2,000rpm" this is great! Good one Chevy!
LT sure looks to be the best buy.

And the 6 speed addition should help with mileage part I guess.

Re: Cruze Updates in pipeline: EDIT: Launched with new engine

Just spoken to one of the Sales person from KLN Motors, Chennai.
He has sent me a PPT used in his Sales Training.
It says, 0-100 kms acceleration in New Engine MT - 8.5 secs and AT - 9.3 Secs.

Cruze Updates in pipeline: EDIT: Launched with new engine-new-cruze.jpg

I had a doubt and called him and he replied that it's ARAI figure shared in his training.

I have attached it as Zip format.
New Cruze-Customized Training 260612.zip

Price is increased by 1.2 Lakhs for LT Model and 0.3 Lakhs for LTZ Model.

Re: Cruze Updates in pipeline: EDIT: Launched with new engine

From what i get to know after reading everything is that there are no new exclusive changes to ltz model.30k increase is for new engine n gearbox. That's justified.Colour dispay could have been introduced in ltz.Registered an online enquiry on chevy site, got a call next day-impressive.
