Re: New Maruti 800

The new 800 looks really good. Maruti Suzuki has another winner on it's hand. Hope the new 800 is priced well.
From the link, one can see a vastly improved interior compared to the outgoing models.

Re: New Maruti model to replace 800, Alto

interesting! looks decent and a definite upgrade to the Alto or A-star. Now it depends on what stage of development it is & when will it hit the market! Reminds me Ford Figo though!

However it is probably only petrol powered which means the market will give it a thumbs down at the moment.

There seems to be a strong Hyundai influence in the looks. The front reminded me of the oldi10 and the back looks like a smaller i20

Very strong Hyundai influence but man take a look at the front bumper, chrome strip grill and headlights. They look just like our Figo!!

Re: New Maruti 800

Looks like a mashup of Fluidic design and Kinetic design. There are bits of Figo, i10 and i20 all around.
Definitely looks like a bigger and more expensive car than the Alto or 800.

Though I think it looks different from Autocar's spy shots. Maybe they have redesigned it after the Eon's launch. Does anyone think so?

Some A star-ish resemblance too. But not at all a crowd puller or eye catcher.

Ahh.. so the winner is back. Will have its work cut out this time around due to the fuel-petrol situation. Maruti should do something out of the blue to give this baby class leading efficiency, only then can it rule the sales charts.

Come to think of it. How did I miss that! Just that grill in the bumper is wider in Figo.

Re: New Maruti 800

OMG, front is a straight Figo rip off. Looks like they have tried to redesign Figo. Maruti is going chinese way.

Though they are trying to go a little fluidic here but I doubt it will be a looker. Eon is very beautiful for that matter.

re: New Maruti 800. EDIT : SCOOP pictures on Page 7 & 15

The same source - oncarsindia - now says that this is not an alto/800 replacement. So I think it could be the new Astar replacement.

Even I am of the same opinion that it could be A-* replacement for its modern looks & ti improve A-* sales.

re: New Maruti 800. EDIT : SCOOP pictures on Page 7 & 15

They need to get rid of A-star like massive headlamps. Who the heck decided to give such ugly looking big headlamps now a days?
Can't they keep it smooth and flowing on external design?
