Spotted a white one near the Sagar Automobiles opposite to the Fire Station Jayanagar. Looks nice in white, while the light blue on display in the showroom looks lame.

Will hop in to the showroom and get a few pics and if possible test drive one.

The response to this car is visible on roads too! I have seen more Alto 800 on road than Dusters till date. To me, it looks definitely better than the outgoing Alto.

Re: New Maruti Alto 800. EDIT : CLEAR scoop pictures on Page 18 & 20 - Now Launched

I just had a look at the car in flesh today at office - A nearby showroom has setup a promotional campaign at our office 'exhibition area'. I must say I am impressed! Interior design is F-A-R better than the existing Altos and looks very good. Initial impressions of leg space for both passenger and driver is very good. They have taken out a bit of the boot area to give some leg space which is very good. Overall first impressions - Maruti Suzuki will have "hot cakes" in the coming months!!!!

I'm amazed how beautifully they have understood the Indian mentality. An added bonus is that (one of the variants of) the car comes with airbags too!!

interior design could be far better , but i am not very impressed with the exterior "styling" . Its quite ugly , especially the front grill .

The whole front design seems to have been copied from different cars , and with the increased ground clearance (it was of course required) the car does look a bit out of proportion .

The car looks much better in flesh than in pictures. And is certainly an upgrade for even old Alto users, that too without spending much. But it surely misses a fresh feeling. May be because it is an amalgamation of many others.

More than A-Star, new Alto somewhat resembles Figo from front.

Yes, I agree. But I was comparing the looks of Alto800 with its own stable mate.

^^^ Yes. Frontally it resembles the Figo more.

Saw a few parked in front of MS showrooms in Kerala. Wifey happened to see the TVC of the car and said the car looks good. And going by the bookings and stuff, looks like the general public opinion is also the same, though most of us here find it odd-looking.

Yes, S'Baleno! It looked really ugly in pics. What is all this fuss about new Alto, I thought. But when I saw it in metal, I had to change my opinion. Still, not a Swan; but at least not an ugly duckling either.

Re: New Maruti Alto 800. EDIT : CLEAR scoop pictures on Page 18 & 20 - Now Launched

Just back from booking a new Alto 800 Lxi for my dad for light city usage. No to minimal freebies offered. The car feels as good or as bad as the old Alto on the inside, and the exterior is very polarizing. I saw quite a few customers loving the new looks. I don't mind the way the car looks, but considering the usage pattern, I knew only an Alto would fit the bill, so no choice there!

took a test drive from a nearby showroom . I feel that the car is better performing and more spacious than the EON .

Its well finished and the NVH levels were better than previous alto or the EON

Re: New Maruti Alto 800. EDIT : CLEAR scoop pictures on Page 18 & 20 - Now Launched

Maruti Alto 800 now bags 32000 bookings!

Quote:
We have recorded 32,000 bookings for the new Alto 800 within two weeks of launch. We are enthused by the response particularly because it is an entry-level petrol car. Excluding Alto, we have seen fresh bookings go up by 18 per cent and have an order backlog of 125,000 units for the Swift, DZire and Ertiga”

With all the bookings they've been getting, I can only hope Maruti passes on some of the profits to its factory workers. This should ensure that the labour force is happier and can directly affect quality and numbers in the long run.
