The facelifted Innova has been unveiled at the Indonesian International Motor Show in Jakarta.

Personally I'm not a fan of the new looks. It looks more like a van now and even less MPV. Even the interiors look weird with a protruded centre fascia. Only good thing is the dark colour wood inserts compared to the horrible lighter shade. Also steering is direct lift from Altis which is a bit bigger and thinner than the older one.

They still have the 80's calculator on board MID which is really unfathomable nowadays.

A change similar to what HM did to Amby Mark3 from Mark II.
The ordinary look of the sides and rear remains though the front treatment became sober from aggressive.

This seems more like a mid life facelift just to keep the Innova up with the changing times. It does look more van'ish now and seems to have lost that Car like feel. But I'm guessing this vehicle is a little larger than the current Innova. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

Toyota however has probably already developed a next generation successor which should see the light of the day maybe in 2014 !

Interiors get a thumbs down. The dash lid looks to be lowered, like it was lowered from Corolla to Altis, good thing this, increases forward visibility & aids shorter drivers.

Exterior too looks like a downgrade from present rounded to more boxy.

Minus the Alloys & TS-ICE, this vehicle would look very bland.

The change is good, for the sake of it.
The front looks good,if not anonymous, has lost the earlier individualism, the rear almost unchanged except lights and the rest is the same.
The interior is disappointing, especially the protruding center console looks tacky, and the steering wheel redesign was expected as per Toyota tradition.(just wait and see the next gen will have Prius/Prado style steering wheel)
Anyway the next generation is expected after a few years, this facelift is just to cheer things up till then.

Oh no! The current Innova's front looks much better than this one! Hope they don't bring this one to India!!

But... Finally an auto tranny for the Innova! Hope they do bring that here, sans the "facelift"

Agree on the looks, the current Innova looks better, but you are wrong about the auto tranny, It's been there from day one, maybe because it was available only on the petrol version may have stopped Toyota from introducing it in India.

Hi Dicky

I was never aware that the Innova came with automatic abroad. Even if it's only for the petrol, I guess Toyota can make an effort to fit it to the diesel and bring it here. It's ease of use in city/highway would be greatly increased if an automatic is introduced.

good to see the name 'Kijang' still being used in the vehicle.

KIJANG was the original vehicle which was named QUALIS for india.

Why fix a thing which is not broken? so toyota continues with the similar shape and make minor tweeks here and there, inside and outside.

it will still sell in india....now matter how it looks! its Toyota yaar!

Even the diesel abroad has an auto, and 50nm more torque.

I like this facelift much more than the present one. Especially the bumpers, they blend in much better than the current ones, which look like they are aftermarket.

The wheelarches should have been flared more. It looks very plain from the side now.

I agree the new look doesn't look that great, but hold it The Toyota Sienna which is a family Van looks much better than the Innova, check it out

Why Toyota Why? The Innova looks very boxy after the facelift. The rear lights looks like it is a 60's design. I was expecting that Toyota would give a Prado-ish look, but they managed this?!?!

In india anything and everything thats cheap and cheerfull, sells.

we are a mileage consious people and AT are for handicaps (i learnt a long time back in a maruti showroom).

Toyota has better and bigger models than Innova to sell, but they wont sell in india.

the question we indians ask is ...."kitna deti hai"!

so we get products which take us from Point A to Point B...thats why we get Innova and not other MPVs from Toyota!

Diesel Innova with A/T ???
gee, thanks. I only bothered looking in the Thailand,Malaysia sites where the diesel is not sold, just found out in South Africa,Vietnam and Phillipines site, then absolutely no reason for Toyota to not launch A/T here.
