The company is investing a whopping 3,000 crores in 2012-13 financial year on various areas, including expanding capacity and new model launches.

Also, they are investing about Rs 4,000 crore in this fiscal year primarily on setting new assembly lines inside its Manesar facility with an annual capacity of 2.5 lakh uints. The company is also increasing the production capacity of diesel cars to 2.9 lakh units annually from existing 2.4 lakh units.

The few products that are expected from Maruti’s stable over the next couple of years are:

New Swift (on August 17, 2011),

New Swift Dzire which will be based on the new Swift but will be shorter than the current Dzire,

R3 MPV to challenge the Toyota Innova,

Small car below the Wagon R by end of 2012,

Next generation SX4 in 2013,

A-Star facelift by 2013, and

Ritz facelift by 2013.

No new 800 here... That means the car that we see in the 'New Maruti 800' thread may be the car below WR, or A-Star facelift...

Had heard a news some times back that Maruti will develop a car fully by themselves in India. It could be this car - a car below below WR, above Alto, and having 796CC Alto engine...

Is this in the anticipation of the hopeful demand for the new Swift and the Dzire. I hope the horrendous waiting periods of the both are reduced significantly.

I'd heard from my friends, working with MSIL, Gurgaon last year that MS plans to invest hugely in a R&D Centre coming up at Rohtak.

Wonder if that is included in the 3k crores.

I was hoping to see Cervo around in near future. Anyone know anything about it?

Invest 3000 crores and do what ? Come up with 20 new "small" cars with the same engine that kill each others' sales ! Not the mention the most wopt naming scheme . Lets hope something worthwhile is in the pipeline.

Well said bro. Invest 3000 crores and do what?. Good question. Maruti should invest a bit more on their R&D department to develop new diesel engine for kizashi , sx4 and GV instead of relying on 1.3 DDis for each and every model they launch.:Frustrati

Some one quoted on one post that MSIL is working on a 2.4L Diesel engine and a new SUV is also on boards ! Would not all these be a part of this 3000 Cr?

And I dont see anything wrong in Maruti bringing more below 6L cars ! They are BEST in that and let them excel in that ! All the more choices don't hurt customers. And its a fact that Maruti is the undisputed KING in those brackets.

Other than 6L cars, I would like to see MSIL bringing GV & Kizashi as CKDs and also bring in super Diesel engines in these cars.
