Was a Prabhadevi, Mumbai and I saw the new SUV from Audi. It looked similar to Q5 but smaller than Q5 for sure. The head lights and tail lights were also different than the Q5. I could only manage the rear pic. As soon as the driver saw me clicking pictures, he just slipped into a by lane.

Any idea if the Audi Q3 has already started testing in Mumbai.

Yes it is indeed a Q3 for sure,looks like Audi plans it to launch along with FL A4.

The whole convoy does fuel runs on Two routes basically..
One is town to thane via VT-Byculla-Parel-Sion-Chembur and then Ghatkopar Highway
Second is town to thane via Pedder road-hajiali-sealink and western exp highway.

I've seen the whole convoy that consists the following cars together many times
2-3 petrol Jetta's
1 Grey Q3
1 black Q3
1 psychedelic camouflaged Audi A4 facelifted version.

Hmmm the cheapest Audi seems to be ready to kick some BMW X1 posterior. If Audi can price this correctly they have a winner on their hands. As GTO said, BMW BETTER be worried!!!!!

Does anyone know when will Audi start accepting bookings for the Q3? I remember X1 was almost sold out by the time it was launched given the bookings accepted by dealers prior to the launch!

I'd imagine a reasonable number of people on team bhp who will be interested in the Q3 - it may just make sense to do a group buy ? Anyone interested ? (I know we are probably a few month away from bookings to open, but that gives us all the more time to get together and buy!)

One thing I need to know is will the tax free trade with EU come into effect by the time Q3 is launched in India and if so what would be the likely pricing of the Q3 then. Moreover when we compare the prices of BMW and Audi sedans now i.e., the 3 series and A4 the Audis are slightly expensive than the BMWs. So will the same strategy apply to the Q3s when compared with the X1.

Lovely. Any inputs on how much bigger it is in comparison to the Skoda Yeti?
This is almost certainly in my consideration set as the next car.
Though I am at least 5 years away from buying it because I ve just bought a new Yeti!

I am a big fan of Audi SUV's but when it stands next to safari, the Q3 looks more like a grown-up hatchback to me. However I have to completely agree that it thrashes the X1 in looks and value for sure. It will be a sure shot winner if it launches with a 25 lakh OTR price.

Am i the only person who feels like this?

The EU - India FTA is taking so long that I've stopped bothering about it anymore! In any case, the FTA will not affect the Q3 which will probably end up in the 10% tax bracket for assembled cars. The FTA will only match the duty to that of assembled cars in the 30% bracket.

The reports suggest that there will only be AWD and hence the pricing will be more expensive than the X1. Likely to be around 24 - 30 while the X1 petrol starts at 21.9.

X1 looks more like an estate whereas Q3 looks like a proper shrunken SUV. Q3 is 240mm shorter, 50mm narrower and 53mm lower than the Q5 so apart from length it is pretty much the same size as a Q5 not bad at all if its packaged at Rs.25L However Audis are notorious for their add-on packages which can easily drive the price well above Rs.30L Nonetheless it is a male fantasy and I cant stop dreaming about it

Reports are flowing in for a June launch. Apparently the Samoa Orange will continue to be the 'communication color' for the India market as well. While Sid Patankar says the prices will not be very aggressive, Autocar thinks the price will start around 23 - 26 (which is a fairly big range methinks).

BMW X1 C.E is 26 Ex-Showroom, And Highline is 32.6, I can assure you Q3 will not be priced below 27, and 34, if all models will include Quattro, and also I think Audi will not launch the Base model at launch,

This is only an assumption as in India, Audi likes to price their cars above BMW,
