Thank You. I had already went through this thread. But that only features the ads and does not talk about the evolution of them, which was my motive of discussion here.

You are right when you say that the actual advent of auto marketing in india came with the Maruti's and shoguns showing up (thank god) .

Oh and you just you reminded me of the stories my grandfather used to tell about the Bajaj Chetak. They used to book a new scooter for a child when he was born. The waiting period used to vary from 16-22 years
