The alloys seem to be 16 inch from Verna?

Overall - its surprising how fast the design has aged. For a car that looked stunning when launched few years back - the midlife facelift looks boring. Subtle and clean lines (VW, FIAT) age better than the forced lines on Hyundai's fluidic design.

Even though Verna is the best fluidic design so far introduced in our market - I feel that few years down the line - Linea/ Vento/ Rapid will look a lot fresher compared to Verna.

Zigwheels article mentions about a 1.1L 75 bhp diesel engine in addition to the 1.4L mill. Not sure if it will make it to our shores though.

Couldn't agree more with you on that rmk. Why have they done this to I20

Guys, is it just me or have Hyundai completely blown off the Rear Tail Light in the new design.

The changes I see on the 2nd Pic from the above post :

1. The old version had Fog lamps housed at the bottom of the Tail Lights. This one hardly has space for the Brake Light there!!

2. I am not sure if its the angle of the picture, but I see Polo/Punto Kind of reverse Light arrangement. Only one on the Right tail light ?

3. I know this might contradict my 1st Point, but if my 2nd Point is right, the Left Tail Gate has one Fog Lamp ?

I am not sure if FLI20 might find any young buyers. It looks horrible from the pictures and I only hope certain colors will make it look better.

Re: Hyundai i20 Face-Lift (2012) Spotted for the first time in India on Pg. 2

This above straight on pictures make it look all the more uglier than what the earlier pictures suggested.

Why is there a bulge kind of effect for the headlamps and tail-lamps? Looks horrible. Also look the way the rear bumper is finished below either side of the license plate!

The only thing I liked on this car is the design of the alloys compared to the earlier one. I'm afraid with this overdose of fluidic what-ever, hyundai is starting to ruin few of their good looking cars in their line-up.

I seriously like the new one a lot better than the current one. I wonder why no one is liking the new upgraded i20.

I really like the new car. Unless someone owns the old one and is in love with it, I really don't see why someone would not like the new car.

The i20 looked good and Hyundai have tried to better it. The features that will be included in the new car will make the car sell more.

The combination rear lights seen in the pictures may be specific to European models and may not make it to the Indian shore.

Re: Hyundai i20 Face-Lift (2012) Spotted for the first time in India on Pg. 2

These Mid-life facelifts are needed to Improvise the product & to upkeep the Interest of customers in it. Even some of the previous owners also use to Retro-fit those changed elements to keep their Interest alive in their products.
So, there's nothing much to criticise here, as its not a major Product Revamp here.
I'm in the favour of this Fluidic i20 design, infact i was waiting for this change to happen from the last few months.
I loved their Fluidic design theme & their Implementation of the latter into their every product, as it has given Hyundai cars a Distinct Identity & moved the latter from the Image of Copy-cats of Japanese products, atleast from the looks front.

Just waiting for this Refreshment to hit the Indian Market soon.

I do like the front 3/4 view! Not from head bang though! I have mixed reactions on the rear. This looks sleek to me that the current version. I love the alloy wheels as well.

Re: Hyundai i20 Face-Lift (2012) Spotted for the first time in India on Pg. 2

To be frank, I like the changes they did to the front. The car has more character and class now. The old one looked too bulgy in the front and the facelifted one looks better.

back is just OK. Not great, not bad.

No changes to interiors, steering?

Re: Hyundai i20 Face-Lift (2012) Spotted for the first time in India on Pg. 2

"Yuck" is the only word that comes to mind looking at the front. I feel this is a good example of how not to design a facelift. The grille between the headlamps could have been better designed, maybe the old grille design retained.

The outgoing model, steering & A/c issues left aside, still looks good. Why can't these Hyundai fellows think of fixing the steering & A/C issues first in the existing model and then think of facelifts?
