Re: Hyundai i20 Face-Lift (2012) Spotted for the first time in India on Pg. 2

The headlamps seem to be very low set, as compared with the previous arrangement. This creates a void, empty space between the top of the headlamp and the front windscreen when viewed head on! Overall, Fluidic theme hasn't matched the original i20 looks. I wished Hyundai had skipped this face-lift and saved the Fluidicity for the 'all new i20' !

Pathetic. The front end looks MUVish now.

Re: Hyundai i20 Face-Lift (2012) Spotted for the first time in India on Pg. 2

It is very difficult to do a facelift on an attractive design with simple lines. Some subtle changes will work without altering the design or the lines much. But I guess, in our country, the manufacturers cannot afford to make facelifts very subtle. The public will simply ask, what's new?

Love the new alloys. i20 definitely needs 15" at least and love the new fogs too. I don't think Hyundai will drop the turn indicator on the wing mirror for India. Thankfully, there isn't much 'fluidic' elements in this facelift. I think its the grille that spoiling the overall appeal of the front. It may look better in person.

But more than the styling, I hope Hyundai has fixed the rattling and the cooling. The steering could do with some directness as well.

Same here. It certainly looks better than the old one for me. Need to wait till we see it in the flesh.

After seeing this one, the current version looks very quirky / korean. This appears more towards normal.

All current Swift Owners might like this new facelifted model more than the old version in my honest opinion.

Overall - its surprising how fast the design has aged. For a car that looked stunning when launched few years back - the midlife facelift looks boring. Subtle and clean lines (VW, FIAT) age better than the forced lines on Hyundai's fluidic design.
IMHO, the new design is a victim of combination of different design principles which makes it look that way. I feel, the current i20 still looks fresh. I love the car except for the fact that great handling is not one of its strength.

I really hope they have improved the AC and the steering rattle issue more than anything else. This IMHO was a major concern for a lot of "informed" i20 potential customers.

Spotted the new i20 without camouflage near Kanchipuram.

It was an export model left hand drive Diesel. It had 'L' shaped LED DRLs alongside the front fogs but no turn indicators on the ORVM. The front looks much better in real when compared to the pictures. The bigger alloys look great.

Sorry, no pics.

Are your referring to this:

Hyundai i20 facelift spotted in the country | Motoroids

I agree that the car does not looks as bad as all have posted in the last few pages. It is acceptable, but more of a pass-over sort off... nothing special about the upgrade. Hope whatever niggles were there have been attended to this time.

Yes, same. The one I saw was the Maroon, I think Hyundai calls it the Maharaja Red. There was a CRDi badge on the right hand side bottom of the tailgate as well.

Interesting! waiting to see whow it looks in person. At least from the pics, the rear looks more like an i10 now. And the front, looks like a bigger Figo. Didnt like it though.

And those DRLs, looks cheap and doesn't go with the overall look of the car. I still love my current i20.

Hope Hyundai doesn't increase the price by another 10-20k on this face list version on a model which is already at a premium price. They better fix the AC and the steering rattle woes.

Yes, the DRLs look cheap and wacky, too big and long for the i20.

The car was behind me when I noticed the DRLs on the ORVM and I first thought it was a poor aftermarket mod. But the front is not bad. It looks better than in the pictures but Hyundai could do away with those DRLs.

White colour makes the face lifted i20 look much better. But still this isn't a facelift that would make you go buy the car. Not bad, but not good either!

Bonnet line over the grill makes it look very odd, not to forget the cheap looking DRL's. I'm not a big fan of this fluidic philosphy, I still maintain hyundai has ruined a very good looking car with clean lines in the name of their design theme.
