Looks like this one does not come with Runflats. Nice choice of alloys, BMW !

The 3L diesel will be a stonker to drive. The first x3 had a bad image thanks to it's poor design but this one's a lot more handsome. I see it stealing a good amount of sales from the 5er.

I just saw a new X3 in Monaco Blue on Colaba Causeway, on Sunday afternoon. Looked much better than the old one.

Is the X3 launching [officially?] in 2 days time? I heard that Audi's discounted price / lower Q5 is a gimmick to steal the show from X3 launch.

Sahil, the new X3 does indeed come with run-flats !!

Swiftnfurious,

Yes it is officially out on 25th, do check the official website all details are there and ecclipse78 has even posted spec sheets, while it will not have any corporate variants as of now but do expect BMW India in due time to respond and the Q5 will be effected the most as the X3 has been getting very positive reviews and the 3.0 is a blast and the best 3.0d engine that exists.

Flyingspur,

Is that the light blue colour? I really want to see that as it looks gorgeous and so does mineral silver.

Ecclipse,

Any idea if it will have a spare wheel or a space saver?

Regards,

Checked out the new X3 last week at Krishna BMW Chandigarh.
No spare tyre or room for spare. :Frustrati

I mean c'mon, at least should have room for the skinny spare, but BMW wants to totally kill the spare wheel concept. Case in point is the new 5 series and now the new X3 as both these vehicles had the skinny spare wheel (or room for it) in their previous iterations.

This is BAD ! What, BMW expects the owners to drive only on mirror finished roads? Or the idea is that only people who drive thru such roads buy their cars? please: Cmon, either expand your network so much that there is not much distance between the two A$$ or give us the spare ! What will people do during a highway drive if something goes wrong with the RFTs? Pay a bomb & replace it once damaged?

True, never buy a new-car/ model at launch. Wait for a while till they add some features/ updates.
how true - have a look at Audi -

Audi Q5 Business Edition to be launched in October 2011| Zigwheels.com

No spare wheel, no space saver.

One has to buy the space saver kit separately ( comes in a little case ).

BMW is very adamant on run-flats !!

Nope it's the dark blue colour I'm talking about.

According to the BMW dealer in Chennai prices are:
X3 2.0d - Rs. 42 lacs (ex-showroom)
X3 3.0d - Rs. 49 lacs (ex-showroom)

At these prices, all I can say is Good Luck to BMW with the X3 !!

The X5 xDrive30d is around 53 - 54L ex- showroom Chennai, so where does that leave the X3 xDrive30d if priced at 49L? One can only wonder!

Yes Yeldo, I think the X5 is approx. 55L ex-showroom, Chennai.

I think the marketing chaps had one too many to drink and decided the prices of the X3 with a major hangover the next day...lol.

Yeah same one with temporary red plates. I'm quite sure it's Monaco Blue.
