Saw an ad today regarding addition of touchscreen entertainment system in the civic and accord.
Went to the showroom to look for myself.
Apparently it is not a standard factory fitment.
Its done at the showroom itself.
The make is CASKA.
Though its nice to have touch screen infotainment system with navigation ,DVD and everything but this one kinda feels aftermarketish for the car.
Nevertheless points to Honda for increasing features in their cars , earlier they installed sunroof now this, looks like someone wants to stay in the competition. clap:

Not so bad. Any snaps in working condition?
BTW how much does it cost?

Good move by Honda. CASKA is a wonderful addition to the brilliant car. Does Honda charge for this or is it being offered as an additional feature at the same price?

This is in response to new Altis which has such a system to play DVD's and everything.

The fitment looks good, does not look like its done at the dealership. Look at the way the dashboard has been shaped for the screen. This surely looks like directly from Honda.

On a side-note, did you ask for any discounts on Civic. Any idea is Honda planning a price reduction in Civic as well (like in City and Jazz).

There is Re1 insurance scheme going on. Apart from that there is corporate discount anything from 15k to 20k as told by Sales rep.
No other offer apart from these two.

Caska does not sound very good. Not specific to one in civic shown here. I had a toyota caska system, and it is strictly average. How does this one in civic sound?

Thanks for the update Ishlinea, the CASKA units are customised for most of the popular brands including Civic. They fit into the 2din slots that hold the factory fitted ICE. These touchscreen DVD players also include a satnav, reverse parking system, storage media players etc.

For the City it costs about 55K, so assume it should be around the same for the Civic as well.

Charthom has such a customised City with the Caska unit and he seems to be very happy with the setup.

The CASKA units are not factory fitted but a dealer option and I doubt if they are available at the same price as the regular Civic, if yes, then it is a great option to go for.

Cheers,
Uday

Just spoke to an Authorised CASKA reseller in Delhi. He quoted 41k for it for the Civic. Reverse sensors and Sat-Nav additional. Looks amazing though. Will ask the HONDA people for more details.

Sound quality was not bad ,but they had not installed the drivers for navigation so couldnt check that out.

Saw something like this yesterday on a Honda City as well. This makes the interior so much better now. Did not ask the price though.

HONDA is giving it free with all the models as of now. The salesperson at Ring Road Honda, Gurgaon told me its a new scheme and all the Civics are now with the CASKA system. Though it is installed at the showroom only at the time of Delivery.
