FE of Accent GLE and Ikon

Hi,
Can someone tell the mileage of Accent GLE(1.5L one ) and the Ford Ikon Flair?
The accent salesguy mentioned 12/14.5 for the GLE and 10/13 for the GLS. Is this the best case (typical sales talk ) or the real average?

Two of my couleagues own Accent and their experience has been 9-10. Dont expect anything more than that in Bangalore

Ikon also is similar figures - I have heard 10-11 from my coleagues. But this might be pretty much same as accent.

1.6 Ikon = 10 kmpl with AC and 11 - 12 kmpl with marginal/no AC usage in Bangalore city driving conditions. While most of the time I am a sane driver, I have my share of adrenalin rushes as well. My colleague, who happens to be a calmer person, drives with a light foot and reports 11.5 - 12.5 kmpl with marginal usage of AC. Ikon Flair, am told, is not too different. My another friend drives Accent and is yet to get anything better than 10 kmpl. All these cars are less than 6 months old.

My ikon 1.3(endura engined) gives 10kpl with AC always on in city with light footed driving. If i push her, nothing more than 8kpl is expected. I'm totally disappointed with this 1.3 endura engine.

The 1.6 rocam gives the same mileage with 30 bhp more.

In Mouthshut.com...i see guys claiming 12-14 in city...i guess they push their cars most of the time :-)

Hi,

Having owned both cars (the accent is a GVS) i think I can give u a pretty realistic Pic.

Accent- 8.5 to 9.5 city with AC, 12 on highway

Ikon Flair- 10-11 in city (with AC), 14 on highway. But, there is a problem with the Ikon. Dunno if other bhpians have faced this, but there is a major speedo error in the ikon. hnece, the odo also shows a greater distance than is actually travelled. So I think one shoul ddiscount the ikon mileage by at least 10-15%.

Case in point- I have a house in Delhi and in Mussoorie. House to House distance in my accent and Indica come to 320 km (+/-2kms)

In the Ikon, this shows as 335-340 kms!

Figure it out!

accent gvs when pedal pushed to the metal a very bad average of 4-5 kmpl partial a/c and best obtained in regular city driving has been 8 kmpl

My dads Accent GLE consistently gives him around 10.5 to 11 kpl in city.... but then, he drives with a pretty light foot... highway, he's got about 15 kpl....

Himanshu,
our Ikons have never had any speedo error. I have compared the speedo readings of the Ikons to that of a lancer and palio and they have come out the same.
Could be that you had upgraded the tyres and hence the difference.
ANyway,
our ikon 1.6 used to give us 8.5 in city and i guess flair should give 9.5kmpl in city.

Gr8guzzler's ikon gives 11 kpl with AC in city.

Thats pretty good for a 1.6L 91 bhp engine.

Seems likely. No speedo error with my Ikon either, reading is exactly the same as was with my previous car (non-Ikon).
