re: Hyundai EON Now Launched! Prices between 2.7L - 3.71L Ex-Delhi!

@ sidindica - Thanks for sharing the spec sheet of the new Eon.

IMO, Hyundai is going to have a super-hit on their hands with the new Eon. As most others have mentioned, the absence of ABS is the only grouse. Hey, but isn't the Eon bringing a lot of segment-firsts like Driver Airbag, USB/Aux-In, etc. along with those fabulous interiors? So, we shall forgive Hyundai for not bringing in ABS. With proper pricing, I expect the Eon to breach the 10000 units sales mark in its first full month of sales.

This car will be great game changer in 800CC segment. I thing design is little bit borrowed from "Kia Morning". Not to forget Kia is also subsidiary of Hyundai Motors.

^If that is the price, then all of this is probably over-hyped.
However, I do feel that if the starting price is around 2.5 L ex-showroom, then EON could be a game changer.
Missing of ABS on Sportz is sad.

I am not a Honda Fan ! - but the statement above is as ludicrous as it can possibly get. Eon compared to Jazz is the equivalent of comparing cashew nuts to Alphonso mangoes ...
Eon is a fantastic package on paper and I hope it lives up to the hype surrounding it.
All the very best to you on your new purchase as well!

Overall, the car looks well made. The fluidic design looks really good. In this segment looks and FE are paramount and it has all the potential to be a huge success IMO.

Why aren't new cars getting passenger side OVRMs by default? That should be more important than any other safety features.

re: Hyundai EON Now Launched! Prices between 2.7L - 3.71L Ex-Delhi!

Santro Starts @ 2.86 L, while i10 @ 3.61 L. By looks of it and 'sports' badge on the boot, I would believe EON will be placed higher than Santro. As far as pricing is concern, I feel it will be Hyundai's combo on the lines of Ritz and Swift with EON starting 30 to 35K lesser than i10 which will place it neck to neck with AltoK10.

So my guestimate is EON will start at 3.20L.

Is Hyundai planning for a 3-pot 800cc Santro which might help them to place it neck to neck with Atlo 800.

3.90L for top end Sportz version sounds too expensive and encroaches the i10 Sportz territory. My speculation is for Eon Sportz to be priced not more than 3.6L ex-showroom.

The i10 Sportz is 4.7L ex-showroom, while the base model D-Lite is 3.6L ex-showroom. There will be an overlap, which will allow people to consider whether to upgrade to a lower spec but larger car from the Hyundai stable itself.

The interiors look very well designed and put together, and with Hyundai these days one can expect the quality to be good too. Hope they come up with an Asta variant with ABS soon. Under 4L ex for all that will Really tick all the boxes for anyone looking for a cheap yet complete city hatch. As always, pricing is the key.

re: Hyundai EON Now Launched! Prices between 2.7L - 3.71L Ex-Delhi!

Sid nice update on the specs, pricing is the key here, I do get a feeling that like the i10 they will overprice this as well by about 10% and yet get away with it.

It should be able to do good numbers as today hyundai does seem to have a maruti like repuation for support in India with similar or better car reliablity report perception.

Infact people do seem to be paying a 5-10% premium for the Hyundai over Maruti for similar spec variants and that could get them moving in this segment as well.

re: Hyundai EON Now Launched! Prices between 2.7L - 3.71L Ex-Delhi!

Sports section of Mathrubhumi (Malayalam Daily) reports the price of Eon as 2.6 to 3.2 Lakhs, even though I doubt how they will pack all the variants mentioned by Sidindica into this 60k price range.
But if that is true, then this sure is a killer car (for alto i mean)

Can we expect a diesel variant for the Eon in the near future?
I hope it happens. A sub 4L diesel variant could swivel the entire market!
