re: Hyundai EON Now Launched! Prices between 2.7L - 3.71L Ex-Delhi!

Well. non A/C starting at 2.69 L is expensive. Disappointed at magna/ Sportz pricing for a 800CC car for fundamental contemporary features.

IMHO Eon has NOT given the feel good emotion that XUV 500 induced upon disclosure of its prices.

Alto a/c variant and K10 engine variant has all room for a attractive price correction should there be any serious threat for its voulumes by Eon.

MSIL can easily announce the existing 40K discount as price correction

@ 3.71 for the Sportz, the OTR Delhi would be 4.2 odd.

When you a get a Santro GL Plus for 3.5 OTR who would someone go for the Eon?

Hyundai should have started @ 2.45L and the top of the line @ 3.2L both Ex Showroom.
completely agree with you,it is overpriced as per me also.

I have actually been hearing the Santro being phased out stories for a while now, with the Santro doing 7K + numbers each month, I don't think Hyundai would consider phasing it out.

And, believe me from all the hatches (Swift, Figo) that I have driven, the Santro has best low end torque, yes it faces ride and handling issues though.

a little over priced compared to Alto IMHO, but totally justifiable, should be interesting to see how market reacts, tough decision

re: Hyundai EON Now Launched! Prices between 2.7L - 3.71L Ex-Delhi!

Typical Hyundai pricing, a bit overpriced for 800cc small Alto competitor car. But as with other Hyundai small cars this will also sell in huge volumes. 10-12K per month is already on the cards. This will eat into Santro and i10 sales apart from other Maruti petrol cars.

Interiors are awesome in the pics. Good to see black on the top and beige in the bottom. Personally I don't like i10 beige color on the top.

I think Alto will do some further upgrades (cosmetic changes) if this is eating its sales. Competition is good for consumers. Thanks Hyundai !

re: Hyundai EON Now Launched! Prices between 2.7L - 3.71L Ex-Delhi!

Given the looks of the Car , people will prefer this over Alto and will be willing to spend extra cash in first few months , Maruti will need to bring prices of A star considerably down . I am not aware of sales strategy of Hyundia but they want to earn good margins from first day , they may reduce prices by way of freebies or discounts after initial period but this car is definitely overpriced considering the volumes Hyundai is targeting .

HMIL is in win-win situation as MSIL is at the weakest due to the on going strike. Once more cars are seen on the road, it will automatically start selling.

Thanks

re: Hyundai EON Now Launched! Prices between 2.7L - 3.71L Ex-Delhi!

You know i am a little disappointed . I will tell you why

Who is the target customer ?

Mostly middle class people who would be investing their hard earned money in to their first car . Magna is the one which has all the basic amenities like AC,PS, and front power windows and it is priced at 3.36 lack rupees ex showroom which will be approximately around 4 lack at-least here in Bangalore . Now with the petrol prices skyrocketing[75rs/liter in Bangalore ] it wil be a big burden on somebody owning his first car, not just on the initial cos [4 lack ] but also with high running costs . You know i read above some people saying , Hyundai has missed the expected prices by 20-25 k and that is a big difference at-least in this segment

Whats is the segment to which this car belongs to ?

This belongs to a segment where even a 10k rupee price correction sometimes does wonders . You know when u look at whom Hyundai are going against , you have to think they have missed out on a golden opportunity to churn out huge volumes . This is Maruti's bastion and i am afraid Hyundai has made an error in pricing this car .

I had predicted this car to be a run-away success and send shiver's down Maruti's spine if they get the pricing right . It will still be a success though , but with Alto's
sales having been hit due to high interest rates and high fuel prices , there is a small clue there
.You cannot say for sure that it will do 10-15k volumes after the initial hype settles down . Eon will still be success but i am sure Maruti will be slightly relieved looking at the prices .

re: Hyundai EON Now Launched! Prices between 2.7L - 3.71L Ex-Delhi!

Really good competitive pricing, not able to understand why people expect it to be expensive.
If you check alto site the base price is 2.79 whereas 2.7 is the eon price so definetly they have undercut for base.
Also the on road performance figures are not yet out so hope 0-100 and braking distances are better than alto /800 then it can really be a filler between k10 and plane jane alto.
Expecting min 15k figures for october delivery

The official Eon website is up.

http://www.hyundai.com/in/en/Showroo...010151236.html

Edit: The main competitors are there in the main page itself. But the Santro is conspicuous by its absence.

I think Hyundai should pull the plug on the Santro. Or Eon will do what the Alto did to the M800.

+1
If this strategy is adopted by MSIL, then half of their problem would be resolved without any change in the Model.

re: Hyundai EON Now Launched! Prices between 2.7L - 3.71L Ex-Delhi!

Eon looks fresh unlike the new Alto, the interior and built quality of Hyundai is far better than of many others, better quality a.s.s., better 'brand' value.

IMHO, they should have priced it from 2.5lac and given ABS too.

I am really disappointed with the price tag. 3.71 L seems to be overpriced for the sportz version. It should have been in 2.3 to 3.4 Range.

As acsandeep already told, Alto K10 Vxi will be a better buy.
