Maybe they will go for both the engines a' la i10 & Alto.

Re: Scoop shots: Hyundai's HA 800 cc car from ACI

Great ... I am waiting for this car. If this car is around 3 L i am sure going to buy it. What i require is city car with AC & Power steering. I can buy alto also but its too low on seating position. Santro & Wagon R are little costly & too old model to buy. I want car for pure city driving. 800 cc engine will do for me. So hope for best. Hyundai will hopefully price it sensibly

The car seems to have longish wheel base.

Re: Scoop shots: Hyundai's HA 800 cc car from ACI

So is this a another variant of i10 (let's say i10-800) or a new model (let's say i5)?
There is a striking resemblance with the new i10, so looks the former. In that case, not sure what the camouflage is all about?

Would i10's brand value take a hit with this?

Re: Scoop shots: Hyundai's HA 800 cc car from ACI

From the looks front, this looks like a mini version of the i10. Wheels look like 12 inchers (like Alto/800). This looks like a direct competitor to Alto.
But Hyundai needs to price it right and offer reliability of the Santro.

Now Bhpians will start looking for HA Diesel and HA CNG!

But what does HA stand for?

Well, jokes apart, it must be some internal code name for the car. Iam sure, Hyundai will come up with a better name for the car.

Re: Scoop shots: Hyundai's HA 800 cc car from ACI

I've seen this car near OMR-Chennai couple of months back. All in all it looked like the facelifted i10 and I wondered why they had covered it. The silhoutte, front and rear tail lamps, front grill etc are ditto i10.

Re: Scoop shots: Hyundai's HA 800 cc car from ACI

The window belt line and greenhouse design is more curvier towards the rear as compared to the I10. And it gets a dedicated low cost santro derived platform, so expect pricing of the car to be competitive.

Sid - IIRC the car I saw had the similar windows to the i10. I may be wrong but I feel that in these pictures, it's the camouflage material that is making the windows look smaller.

Kiku, Check the circled area

HA

I 10

HA has camo which ends at the bottom of the window beltline, typical way of Hyundai camouflaging its cars. And the I10 has a C shaped curve. Yes, some family resemblence can be seen though.

The rear window line matches that of the 2011 Kia Picanto-

Not really. The angle at which the pic is taken makes you feel that way.
If I'm not wrong, Hyundai i10 is based on 2008 Kia Picanto.

First thing I noticed was steeply raked windsheild much more than i-10 or 2011 Picanto. People who saw it report that physical size is closer to Alto.
