So it gets the following engine spec?
Diesel

• 2.0 TDI 161bhp, four-cylinder
• 2.0 TDI 175bhp, four-cylinder
• 3.0 TDI 201bhp, six-cylinder
• 3.0 TDI 242bhp, six-cylinder

Can they just walk down to the VW factory and take that 170bhp from Passat and sell it so?

I think Merc gonna look outdated now ( with the new 3 series coming out soon with better looks).
