I was speaking to a FIAT guy here and he said that it is expected in Dec-Jan. The petrol engine will be 1.1L and there will be some weight reduction. Also, they will come with a new diesel engine (common rail, I guess). He had no comments about the price and FE.

the face lifted Palio

guys,

does the 1.6GTX also get its face lift.??

always fantasize about owning one.

I used to have a 1.2L ELX.

Great car and my kid screams everytime alio, palio: when we see a Palio drive by.

I am not sure about the opinions of Ford cars.
My Fusion after 25,000KMs is going great. great vehicel to drive..

I think most of us are in agreement that for the facelifted Palio to be a success, there are a few things Fiat India needs to sort out:

1. After Sales.
2. Dodgy reputation of the brand.
3. FE of their engines.
4. Build quality (though not in all cases).
5. Antiquated interiors.
6. More After Sales.
7. Still more after sales.

Otherwise it could be a case of a great car going waste.

Ok guys,
Saw the car on my way back from work in the evening... bad news for most of us..the interiors seem largely unchanged..

Though I only got a fleeting glance, I did notice that the basic shape of the dashboard remains the same,

Dials were definitely white in colour, didnt really get to see much else as it was already quite dark.

I know I said in my earlier post that the taillights seemed to be taller, but now i'm not so sure.....but they're definitely a different design

On build quality you are totally wrong. Fiat's all car's build quality are the best in its class.

I took a look at the interiors and there is not a hint of change except for the colour. They come in beige now. The dials are white as that of the GTX, no change here either.

There are 3 petrol versions of this car doing rounds of Pune. The taillights/headlights and all other lights are exactly the same shape as the South African versions. The cars had 1.1L FIRE engines (to make the car fall in the lower tax bracket cars).

to me it looks like they are going to launch the palio a segement below, say between 3-3.5 lacs and make way for the Grande Punto to take its place.in that way both cars can co exist.

the new palio in that price bracket will be a good sucess is it is fuel effecient and that's why i think they are putting the 1.1L engine though it will be a re-worked one.

This all means we can expect the Grande Punto soon.

Here's a a south african ad for the Palio II. Noticed the interiors are unchanged even over there. The car looks pretty neat from front but the rear could have been better
The ad tries to show people belonging to diverse backgrounds in Africa and their love for the PAlioII
