Re: Autocar India scoop: 2012 Honda City Facelift pics

Got one more pic of the facelift City. The fog lamp housing has some changes.

Autocar India scoop: 2012 Honda City Facelift pics-hondacityfacelift.jpg

Now is this called a facelift?

I would like to remind all prospective Honda City buyers who are delaying their purchase because of this so called facelift - Get the City now with big discounts of 50-80K. Honda will increase the price and no discounts at least for a month after the facelift.

PS - Is it worth calling this a facelift?

What is this?

You must know that Honda offers a skirt-kit for the City in India, and the picture above is that of a City with the same kit. I've seen it on several Citys in Bangalore. The front skirt is huge and has its own fog-lamp housing. One can get this skirt-kit, with the money you'd save by buying the old one, and make the old City look like the face-lifted one!

The face-lift is so insignificant, in terms of the exterior, that I don't think even the sharper car-enthusiasts would be able to differentiate this from the old one.

And what's more? It's called the 'all-new-City', as per the registration board on the front bumper! How in the World is it 'all-new', when all I can see is different fog-lamps?

Hi Guys,

I am considering buying honda city automatic.
dealer in bangalore has told me 15k+free insurance (27k) = 42k
are there deals around 80k happening or being offered due to facelift coming?

thanks

this is the current City with the front side skirt rite? The facelifted City grille gap is wider at the sides.

But facelift or not, don't think Honda will be able to survive without their hefty discounts in the months to come.
Without a diesel if they want sales, discounts and price cuts are the only way forward.
Last time, when the 66k price cut was announced, I visited the showroom and asked for additional accessory freebies, they simply told, "We are offering 66k off, what more will you get from Honda?" And now see, what all we are getting from Honda

That is just a kit,as suhaas has already mentioned. I've seen the new City in person and can safely say that this isn't the face-lifted model.

Re: Autocar India scoop: 2012 Honda City Facelift pics

I thought Honda had learnt it's lesson but if the facelift is what it is in Thailand then they need a spanking once again. Now that VW is offering the Vento Breeze with touchscreen HU etc. The least honda can do is provide that on the V model along with leather seats etc. All this WITHOUT a price hike. The current pricing after the recent reduction is competitive but the features need sprucing up.

If i were in the market to buy a city i'd do it just before this facelift because you will get a hefty discount and won't miss out much going by honda's "facelift" trend.

These new alloys look replica's of the S500 !

MMCs I guess form the basis and an opportunity for the company to reduce the price. This gives them the competitive advantage and saving face.

Re: Autocar India scoop: 2012 Honda City Facelift pics

saw a picture of City interior alongside an article in cardekho.
Link(Auto News India - Honda City face lift on the cards | CarDekho.com)

Here, we can see ACC, cruise control etc. But, the other pics of the City shown seems to be the current version and hense confused whether this is indeed a facelift snapshot.

Thought of sharing since the article mention about interiors in bit more detailed format from what we were hearing.

@Manojmis, this is not the facelifted City, but the current version which is on sale in Turkey etc.
If you take a close look at the image, you can find that this is a left hand drive car and the image is flipped horizontally.

That said, Honda could bring the facelift on top of this version here. But at least from the Thai version, it doesn't look that way.

Seems like they have taken the word FaceLift in the literal sense and just lifted the face.

Just looks like photo of Australian Model, I don't think they will give such features in India, else would have done long back.

Found a 31 sec Advt of the facelifted ANHC (Thai variant). Shows the new blue lighting and rear tail lamp changes. The rear seats have detachable head restraints now.

Cheers

Honda City(ANHC) Facelift version to be Launched in 2 months

Folks,

I read an article sometime ago regarding the Honda City facelift version being launched in approx 2 months from now.

Some of the main changes that the facelift version comes with when compared to the existing version are highlighted below:

front grille
front bumper
rear bumper
new tail lamps.

The interiors of the car are likely to remain the same. The Honda Brio launch is on the 27th September and City facelift seems to be the next project, Honda will work on.

You can view the pics at
Honda City facelift coming to India - Pictures Revealed - CarWale News

From the initial look at the pics, I feel there will not be any drastic changes to the facelift version compared to the currently running model.

Regards,
KTP
