Re: New compact Swift DZire on test

I don't know how relevant it is but Siddharth Vinayak Patankar from Car & bike show posted on FaceBook that VXI variant will have 4 speed automatic option, ZXI and other diesel variants will only have manual option.

Anyone can confirm or put some more light on this news ?

Now VXI being a middle variant will have automatic option and ZXI being top variant will have only manual option. I simply cannot understand what strategy is being adopted by Maruti or it might be other way round (Typo error from SVP in facebook) lets wait and watch.

Re: New compact Swift DZire on test

Guess all auto journalists are getting to drive this car now - in the coming days. Is team-bhp also invited? I guess we were NOT invited for new Swift's launch. We have to wait and see.

Confirmed launch on Feb 1, 2012 as per Hormazd [ACI]!

Re: New compact Swift DZire on test

Heard there will be an automatic version also. IMO the boot looks odd. Is there any change in the wheelbase?

What the hell !
Team-bhp not invited ? That was not all expected.
When it comes to internet, I guess Tbhp is the most dependable community/site today to get the auto news. Manufacturers simply can't ignore this, atleast in the coming time.

Feb 1st launch 2012. Any idea about delivery of this version ?

Feb 1st 2013 ?

Is it the VGT 90HP superturbo or normal FGT one?

Looks are better than the current Dzire. But wondering what are those 150 new features about?

Re: New compact Swift DZire on test

And here is the first impression report from ACI.
  • Engines : 1.2L 86 bhp petrol & 1.3L 75 bhp Diesel [same as Swift]
  • The beige plastics in the dash enhance ambience
  • Rear space better than current Dzire
  • Boot space, at 316 litres is a whole size down on the old car
  • Auto option ONLY on the mid VXi trim
  • Auto is well mated, but jerky under hard acceleration
  • Softer suspension at the rear, but higher body roll than Swift.
  • ARAI-tested figures of 19.1kpl for the manual petrol and 23.4kpl for the diesel
  • Maruti will announce pricing on February 1 at the car’s launch - mostly same price as of now.
