I spoke to Arya Honda, but they aren't offering any additional discounts - just the 65k from earlier. Ex-showroom prices Mumbai:
S-MT: 8.6L, V-MT: 9.07L - this is without any bargaining.

These prices don't reflect the clearance discounts being spoken about in this thread. Arya guys claimed they hadn't been given any instructions to clear stocks, nor were they sure about when the facelifted version was to be launched! Which dealer in Mumbai is offering these discounts?
The prices were lower also because of the month end. Linkway, Solitaire both were offering good discounts.

E-MT had the standard 50k-60k discount but the S-MT and V-MT were priced at around 8.6 and 9.1L on road Mumbai.

I guess you can safely assume a discount of about 80k everywhere in India. Anything above that is luck i guess..

Re: Honda City price : Another 70,000 rupee discount

I saw the City facelift undergoing testing the other day. Must be a company driver, because he was driving like his pants were on fire and was tailgating me for a looooong time.
Externally, if wasnt for the red TC plates, I wouldnt have realised it is a facelift at all.

Re: Honda City price : Another 70,000 rupee discount

Called Honda in Goa. They were initially not disclosing prices, then after much persuasion quoted 45k less on the VMT model, which would take it to 9.2 lakh approximately OTR, provided I took what was in stock - seems like stock clearance to me.
I'm sure if I went to the dealer and produced my chequebook I'd be able to get another 20,000 off that.

Re: End of Honda City price : Another 70,000 rupee discount?

Called a couple of dealers today in Hyd. I heard almost identical news. No more heavy discounts on Honda City.

It looks like they have discontinued the festival discounts on City.
Reason: Apparent stoppage of production in Noida due to impending launch of face-lifted City

No new vehicles are being shipped from Noida. The arrival of MMC (Minor Model Change) version may not be before December due to the floods in Thailand.

So, dealers are no longer obligated to offer any more discounts.

Lucky are those who got it before Diwali.

I purchased a VMT at 8.5 on road in Chandigarh. Thought this was a bargain.

Honda to slash City price by 70k-100k (AGAIN!!)

People,

Just tuned in to Times Now, the reporter said that Honda is mulling a new model and so the City prices can expect a cut. The cut, she said, could be in the range of 70-100k, following a cut of about 66k earlier this year.

With Toyota, VW and others feeling the heat of depreciating rupee and Maruti facing labor problems, is Honda the winner in the game?
Earlier, I read that Toyota was mulling a price rise due to increased forex costs whereas Honda had long term supplier agreements in place.

People about to buy a C segment sedan, Rejoice!

Cheers,
Tapish

I will be a bit surprised since there was a similar cut a couple of months ago. But a new model may be on the cards since I got a call from Honda stating that they have some special deals, esp on City for Honda AT owners!

Why not honda break the jinx and try making a diesel engine for the indian market. Toyota does, and so does all other major players

Better still, why don't they use the F.I.N.E. (read "Fiat Indian National Engine") till then in City atleast...?
It'll surely make one helluva car, man!!

re: Honda to slash City price by 70k-100k (AGAIN!!)

If they really slash the base City price by 70k, the pricing would go lower than even a Manza Petrol (ex-showroom)!!

The only critical kit the base City misses out as compared to a Top end Manza is a CD player, fog lamps and Alloys!

Is it because of new model Honda city is ready to hit the market and they are trying to clear the old stock?

I would believe so. Honda City is at the half way mark of its 6 year lifecycle and a mid-life facelift was expected in Oct-2011. So most likely, it is a clearance sale.

If a completely new vehicle from Honda is on the cards, it needs to be in the segment lower than current city (DZire and Etios segment) and NOT between current City and Civic.
