Re: Safari price cut? 4x4 back in all variants?

Poor Tata - reacting so very late to the competition.

But to an extent it is true that the urban market atleast has moved on from the Safari and the Scorpio and the like.

I guess the Safari might find takers still amongst really price conscious and utility focussed buyers but I dont think they can hope to stand the coming onslaught of modern, compact SUV's like Duster and so on.

We are constantly seeking for newer and better things and by that yardstick both the Safari and Scorpio despite tempting price cuts, still will fall short of urban consumer expectations.

Yeah, this being a festive season, discount is the major word every where. Also came to know about a price cut of around 10 grands in BS3 variant of late.

Re: Safari price cut? 4x4 back in all variants?

Well after considering the features and prices of the XUV 500 the safari feels highly overpriced. I personally feel that TATA will have a tough time selling the safari and only people with serious offroading requirements might go for the safari. The safari is really expensive to maintain and is overtly dated.

+1 for this question. There are lots of reviews of Safari, but very few specifically for 2010 variant. It's time now some year long ownership reviews should come.

If there are specific threads for 2010 Safari, someone please do point.

Re: Safari price cut? 4x4 back in all variants?

In my view they are showing BS3 model price in TV AD, I enquired and got TD of a VX top end model(no 4x4) as well however 4x4 is present only in topend.

Surprisingly they give to price list which shows 4x4 in all model.

I hope the Tatas do not go the way Honda has gone for Jazz. It is going to impact the resale value of the current safaris. I own one and I am hoping they do not do too much of the price cuts for the Safari.

Guys, YES, 2010 Safari's are better [much better] in terms of fit & finish with improved quality of interior materials. I have a 2010 Safari VX 4X4. If you are really interested, check this up http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...0-variant.html

There are few more of 2010 Safari's available in TBHP.

Re: Safari price cut? 4x4 back in all variants?

Tata Safari is one hardy vehicle which has made to Leh and back on this forum. It's let down by niggles, reliability problems, but if you know to get around and accept it; it endears itself well. Is need in of a serious makeover, though the appearance is real good even after these years and looks good in white color. Any one looking for a reliable ride will definitely will look away and TASS doesn't help much either.

Re: Safari price cut? 4x4 back in all variants?

So they brought back the 4x4 on EX and GX. Wonder why?

The price cut isn't significant. Maybe TATA is happy with the numbers Safari is doing right now and this is only to clear the stocks before Merlin arrives.

Re: Safari price cut? 4x4 back in all variants?

Safari's have serious reliability issues... I know from first hand knowledge. Never before have I had a car that has had to have its wiring harness replaced, fuses replaced, ECU replaced and suspension changed in less than 3 months of purchase (or ever for that matter). Before they go off on a price war, they'd be better off hiring a few Quality Control folks at their factory.

Also, is there a premium on the White because of the high demand from netas? Elections are coming up so maybe they've been in high demand. Also, I have a white one as the waiting period on any other color was over 2 months when I bought the Safari in November 2010.

Wow! finally its official that 4x4 is available in all model except LX . Site is updated, regarding price LX price is slashed by only 6K and other model price is incresed by more than 10K

I just compared price list I got from showroom in Pune in last month and the site price.

Sorry guys, confused between in BS3 and 4, now I compared in excel and see the difference below:

Here is mine. 2010 September model. Till now my ownership is totally trouble free and enjoying every bit of it.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ycus-grey.html

There is one more ownership thread of verditer also going on. Infact, most of the 2010 Safari owners are happy bunch of lot and nothing more here to report than usual servicing.

+1 to that. There are nothing major to report or troubles to report than routine things. That is why most of our Safari's ownership review are far away from bling factor.

I am planning again 5000 Kms long trip at the end of this month. In the month of August, I did 3600 Kms long trip and could not resist more doing more trips with my Safari.
