Re: Safari price cut? 4x4 back in all variants?

Isn't it disaster for Safari? almost 25k price hike in pune on all models except LX I guess. Its high time for Tata to give huge discount on Safari, clear the stock and launch Merlin at very competitive price. Price hike was least expected.

By the way, there is 30k cash discount + 40k exchange bonus in pune.

Congrats Sourav for getting ready to tame the beast!
People like you only inspire me further, to join the Safari club.
Awaiting a full initial ownership review from your side.
Also pls share the finance details.

The 4X4 is like made to order it seems. Hence so much time for delivery.

Thanks Maverick. I had a long time desire to own this car...finally I did it.

Its true that the 4*4 is nowadays made to order. When I had made the booking, they had only 2-3 of them readily available as part of their all India stock. And that was in black and white colors. They did not have any other color available in 4*4. But they had huge stocks available in the LX versions.

Since the Arctic Silver was not available, they had to separately manufacture it. Thats why it took time. I placed the order sometime around 7th of November, and it was manufactured only around 20th of November. It was shipped to the dealer around 29th. I came back to Delhi on 5th and took delivery on 6th December.

Regarding the finance, I had taken some amount of loan from SBI. Went through a DSA. He arranged everything and very quick. I had to visit the branch only once to meet the branch manager. The loan was at 11.25% floating for 5 years. Per lakh EMI comes to about Rs. 2187.

Will post an initial ownership report soon.

How did you manage the below discount? You knew the guy or due to any other reason?

Can you please let me know the name of this TML sales head?

Thanks
Naman
Hi Naman,

The name of the guy is Dhaneesh Sharma. He is the regional sales head for North India. You can ask the dealership about him and contact him. Let me know if you need his number and I will PM you.

Which dealership have you approached? When I had approached my dealership (Rama Motors at Okhla Phase 3) and bargained for discounts, they mentioned that Dhaneesh can approve further discount of about 10000 at his discretion. When I finally showed interest in buying the Safari (provided they give me additional discounts), Dhaneesh agreed to arrange the above mentioned discount.

Is this discount for all, or through corporate offers?

Following thread mentions the discount to be 34000/- for "select companies" - whatever it means.

Also, Pune Municipal Corporation has steep additional tax for vehicles crossing 10L of ex-showroom price. It's not clear whether this additional tax reduces if the discounts bring the ex-showroom from whatever to below 10L.

Does anyone know what the rules in this regard are?

Re: Safari price cut? 4x4 back in all variants?

The Safari website does not show 4X4 on all variants available. I feel they should have updated the website by now.

Tata have their own IT Wing (TCS), so maintaining this site should not be much of a challenge.

Not sure about the tax rules. Discount is for all, and on all variants.

As told by National, the discount is subtracted later. The tax applies on invoice price. So the tax does not reduce due to discount.

Re: Safari price cut? 4x4 back in all variants?

Was going through their website and to my surprise Safari is now available at a lower price. Price starts from 7.95 Lakhs only. Here is the link.

Tata Safari - Safari DICOR

Maybe this is due to Merlin launch? Maybe it is about to get launched?

Re: Safari price cut? 4x4 back in all variants?

Is Safari in segment C or D?

When I enquired about loan they treated it as "C". I thought it is "D".

One more question: Is GX not available in simple white? Dealers say so.

By simple white do you mean "Pearl White". If yes, then yes it is available. Might not be available off the counter.

If you are referring to milky white, then it should be available on order.
