My recipe for this car

1) One Indigo XL monocoque
2) One Marina C-pillar modified to replace the C-pillar of the Indigo XL
4) Two split folding seats for third row
5) Add as per each one's taste
- ABS
- Airbags (remember the export variants of the Indica V2 ?)
- Alloys wheels
- New dashboard
- New second row seats

I remember reading long back in ACI that the Indigo XL monocoque received some changes to increase stiffness to counter the flex caused due to the lengthening.

I think this caaaar would be much better than Tata's previous Venture to make a LC MPV

I got to see this car at the Tata Motors plant today. It was totally uncovered

Sorry I could not click pics as I was there on work and it would have been unethical, besides I would probably have got flogged !

The front is the same as that of the Indigo e-cs. I could not get a peek at the rear or the insides, but the car looks looong !

On another note, I also came across a Nano with a new front bumper design. It looked quite nice. The fog lamp slots on this new design were round.

Nice one there. Yes, you have almost got it, but it did look quite propositional. (Is this a PS job or a pic from somewhere ?).

What difference does it make? Tata is trying to make a premium taxi range. Again the taxiwallahs will get their hands on to something new. For the first few days Tata dealerships will not allow it to get registered under taxi and then when the figures will start falling, it will be a free for all run. Even the individual buyer who will buy it for a personal use will get tagged as a driver or a cabwalla.

Looks really long - but somehow proportional. I think it will be a huge hit in the taxi-market. I travelled in an Indigo XL cab once - and the rear had very nice comfort!

1. what is the secret rear / hatch it has got?
2.How it is going to be different from the existing Indica, except better leg room.
3. Why it takes such a long time to market.
4. How it is going to attract the Taxi passengers or kill the competition?

The Spy shots posted on car dekho clearly show that it with the CR 4 Badges. see the link posted by direct injection .So clearly CR 4 is in line for Indigo XL .

Hello guys,

Got a glimpse of this camouflaged Tata vehicle on the Pune-Mumbai highway.
Near Hinjewadi. On my way back from Lavasa. (Travelogue coming soon with lovely videos and some good pics)

3 things:

1. the front is the typical Indigo eCS including the grille, chrome strip etc.
2. The height is the same (GC wise)
3. High up tail lights and boxy rear end.

So this could be the Marina's replacement?

Definitely does NOT look like a 7 seater.

If a station wagon or estate version, why?
Sounded diesel to me.

P.S. 2 months ago - when I met someone from the Tata Motors Pune plant - I had mentioned to him -that when you have some tried and tested platforms - why don't you expand on it and have more variations. Like a Station wagon. A convertible. A XL version.
They had all these in the old Indigo. None of these have come in the Manza which is a much much better platform and car.
I had suggested with all the legroom they should add some of the features of the old Indigo XL version for an exclusive Manza. (with fold out tables in the seats, tv screens, rear air-con blower etc.)
Thus have a competitive portfolio spanning throughout the range.

Let's see what this turns out to be.

Damn - i painstakingly searched the forum for everything related to a scoop w.r.t Indigo.
& was so happy I managed to click this 1st!

Never occurred that they would badge it as an Indica ! :(

From the spy shots it looks like a Indigo CS (small boot) with increased cabin length. i.e. length of indigo but with longer cabin and smaller boot
