Yup i feel its a 4X4 only. An answer to mini xylo??

So now, its the long wheel base hatch?

Thats a very hideous looking canopy masking the vehicle. On the first a major question creeps up if that is really a sedan or some other body style at the rear. Else why would they put such a mask in its hind quarters. Somehow feel that the rear might end up looking like Ritz in some sort. May be the badging is CR4 which looks very similar to 4X4. The proposition may be a people mover with the same mileage of 25kmpl. Thats maxing out their old workhorse of a platform!

May be its the 7 seater or 8 seater to compete with the upcoming suzuki?

But why on the old platform? the vista platform would be more practical and logical.

Looks similar to Volkswagen Caddy...

Something on the lines of Renault Kangoo perhaps? That's what it looks like to me.

Tata is really flogging that old donkey. Future Indica versions that I can think of - Indica Pick Up, Indica Limousine, Indica ATV, Indica Motor Home and so on.

Too much variation, the indica platform is too dated now for the team to keep adding new models.

I think this is TATA's answer to the Mini XYLO.
As per the article, "it surely is one way to keep the fleet operator from looking elsewhere for their breadwinner".

This may be a replacement for the Marina. Since it does not sell in large numbers, TATA would have thought of adding value to it by making cosmetic changes and adding a CR4 Engine.

I also read on a ARIA thread that TATA is concenrating on increasing the Quality of existing cars and not focussing on newer models / facelifts. If that is true, not sure who this new model / facelift fits in.

Ahh..something on the lines of Logan MCV?
Or is this TATA's answer to Maruti R3 a.k.a Ertiga?

if its an economy vehicle, the double barrel headlamps and the grille and the alloys dont make sense. But then again the wing mirrors are the bog standard black ones ( not painted, or with the strip, or the indicators in the XL indigo) , but it has mirrors on both sides = premium product. most entry level tata's have only the right ORVM
if you look in the first pic, you can almost see the outline of the rear window along the cloth.
I'm really not sure why tata would use the indica platform for a UV. the venture would be a lot more space efficient, and they use the indica bits anyway. A people carrier, again, i dont see how this would fit in between the venture and the magic, at best it would cannibalize sales.

Lots of questions, not many answers :)

1. Its a CR4 badge. Its a stretched Indica.
2. Its a proper 5 seater hatchback ONLY.
3. It will have a longer wheelbase and enormous rear legroom with a long rear door.
4. Think of it as a hatchback version of Indigo XL.
