Yea I've been on a similar event before though it was not a mileage event, but I got 3 wonder-la tickets on my 4th service. The whole event was organized by Prerana Motors and I think the cost was shared with TML as a part of customer engagement activity. They had almost 200 cars, all passenger vehicles customers who got these invites. Dont have the pics now but it was very well organized.

I suggest those who have Nano's should participate. Its fun.

I was surprised to see so many NANOs on NICE road day before yesterday. I saw more than 25 NANOs during my drive from BG road to Tumkur road exit. How did it go?

Attaching some pictures taken during the event. Could not cover it all as I was driving. Everything went well, except the goof up they did during the end. The mileage was supposed to be calculated full tank to full tank. During the first full tank they did a auto-stop but during the end full tank they filled to the brim. As some customers wanted take advantage of the situation and fill in more fuel.

The registration started at individual dealership point 7.30am onward. Breakfast was served. Around 8.30 we started to reach the starting point, which was Bannerghatta IOC pump. Each car was filled with petrol full tank (auto stop), the current ODO was recorded and fuel caps were sealed with tapes. From there the destination was Bharat Petrol Pump (Wonderla) were the tank was filled again and the ODO was recorded. The entry to Wonderla was complementary. Over all response to the event was amazing, more than 100 participants participated.

Good initiative and glad for the large turn out. such events go a long way in building up the image of the company and putting them in limelight. BTW what were the highest FE figures achieved? The stretch you mentioned is a relatively free one.

Very good move from Tata. Thanks MadTiger for putting up the pics. Looking forward for more details about the event, especially the FE figures. How much did you achieve?

As I have mentioned earlier they messed up big time in FE calculation as they did auto cut off in the begining and then filled up to the brim in the end. So the results delared are not upto my satisfaction. The highest FE as per their calc is 34 kmpl

My personal calc stood .74 ltrs for 35 kms. It was a straight highway stretch and I drove at a constant speed of 60.

That's 47kpl

Now I know that whoever claims their Nano's to have 40+kpl are not necessarily hallucinating. I have always wanted a toy-ish car for roaming around in market. With more and more Nano owners vouching for their cars, I need only these kinds of marketing by Tata to boost my confidence in Nano.

The auto cut off is a FARCE!! It takes nearly 5-mins to patiently fill a nano to the brim- so irritating it is safe to say even a Shell bunk attendent would shooo u away!!

PS - from Auto cut off to BRIM I have personally filled over 4 liters in my nano. That would change the 24Kmpl - 30xx Kmpl a LOT!!

There not following Auto-cut off would only mean lower Mileage figures right. Even then 34 is amazing.

.74L for 35 kms? You were driving or getting your car towed ? Awesome figures man. It pains my heart that the nano never took off. Its such a sensible buy for our market. The best part is even after a couple of years since launch it still looks as peppy as day 1.

Just to add to it, if you are light footed, then in peak bumper to bumper traffic with a/c on and if you switch off the engine at traffic signal beyond 40 sec lay over, it will give you 17+ kmpl easily. I always try to attain 60 km in my nano and its quick.

It will pick up drmohitg, it just matter of time and peoples perception towards the car. What I've found with my little technical knowledge, due to cost cutting in place they have strictly lowered on potentially risky things. For ex wiring. People after they purchase their car will immediately go and fit 100/90 head lamps. Put an amp large speakers etc, the internal wiring fails to take load and adverse situation take place. Personally its a great city as well highway car. Except the small fuel tank.

Totally agree with this observation. I have also monitored my Nano's FE based on tankful method. It has tended to vary between 14.5 and 19 despite similar type of driving and road and traffic conditions.
