Sorry, but what logic is that? Thailand always has been a Honda stronghold, and the market is quite matured in comparison to ours. And for years, it has been Honda’s (and Toyota’s) manufacturing hub, catering whole of East Asia. I don’t think anyone will do business by reciprocating to the love shown to a specific brand.

Anyway, competition is always good for we customers :)

Honda is well sure about what is affecting its sales : price and lack of diesel; and have promptly carried out good price reductions for the City and Jazz.

As for the love thing, I'm sure they don't give a damn! It's business!

Yikes! That last pic of a Jazz getting crushed is really alarming and heart-wrenching. :eek:

Sad state of affairs. If only there was a way of re-using flood affected cars in some manner. But they can't make water-proof cars, can they? Oh well.

I feel bad for Honda. And for all those nice little cars, now with no future except the scrap bins.

I just read the news in AutoBlog and, needless to say, I was saddened to the deepest possible extent. It is really painful to see thousands of cars going straight to scrap without ever seeing the roads outside the factory. Rows and rows of Brio, Jazz, City and Civic getting crushed one by one is terrible to see. 2011 has been a year to forget for Honda what with the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, this recent floods in Thailand and the regretful launch of the latest generation Civic.

If the cars have undergone so much damage and loss, I can only imagine the plight of thousands of Thai people who have lost their lives/property due to this unprecedented natural calamity. Time and again, nature keeps proving that we are mere mortals with no control over what's happening around us.

- Honda India announced that it has resumed normal production with two shift operations from today. In the wake of disruption in supplies from Thailand, the company had been working under severe production constraints since November 2011.

- "We will have production of 370 cars per day from today and from next week it will ramp up to 440 units per day. We are confident to achieve peak production output in March 2012”, Honda Siel Cars India Senior Vice-President (Marketing & Sales) Jnaneswar Sen said.

- The production of Honda Brio is resuming from mid February 2012 while the production of Honda Jazz will start towards the end of February 2012. The Brio backlog will be cleared by end of March.
