Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

The current car is just perfect in the looks dept. The new one looks like the new Verna in some ways. To many design elements all over vs the very clean look of the current one.

Yes times have moved on and this new looks is what will probably be wanted by the current lot of buyers. It is required in todays time, but we can be sure that the present one will be the one that people will remember as the "Beautiful Linea" not the new one.

Infact the new one seems to indicate the start of a new design philosophy from Fiat.

Not a lot, just a bit.

And multiair tech is definitely not coming to India, they should just have a powerful diesel inside this car.

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

If this artist's impression is close to the real thing, then the Linea seems to be a contender in the next Transformers movie! Ballerina to freestyle street dancer.
Still a good looking vehicle, this. I've read about the multi-air engines. They seem to be revolutionary.
Can. Hardly. Wait....

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

@Suhas: That is was a neat explanation. I guess Fiat will reduce from being a car maker to being an OEM for engines (like Bosh :-) )! But I do not want to see them there! Hope they bring it to India soon, as "Frugal" is some that Indian love and for good reasons too!

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

Nothing Italian about it. Looks like a re-badged Chrysler. Clearly designed keeping the American market in mind.

Which leads me to think, why not sell this car in India as a Chrysler? Position is as the tough, all American muscle car? GM struggled with the Opel brand, so replaced it with Chevrolet. Likewise, Fiat is fast going in that direction, so might be worth a shot.

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

I think the current version looks much more classy and understated.

I guess somebody told Fiat that they need to match the success of Fluidic Verna in India, so Fiat started by copying some design ideas from Hyundai

If Fiat waits till 2013 to launch a new Linea, they might as well do it under a new name. Given its current sales, the Linea might not exist in India in 2013.

Totally agree with you buddy..It clearly has the dodge/chrysler looks..May be this version is purely for American market.

Exactly my thoughts, looks very much in line with fluidic concept of Hyundai.
I was very keen on Tjet+, but the sales figures really scared me.

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

Being a Linea owner, I must say the new design is quite a shift from the classy to the sporty. Hard to say if I like the new design. Still prefer the current look. However, guess this new sporty look is the trend going by how Ford, Hyundai etc are designing their cars.

To me, the current Linea is more stylish. This one doesn't look like an European car at all. Let them name this Fluidic Linea .

"Mom look its the new Fluidic verna.

as car passes by the boy he reads Linea :frustrati "

If this design comes to India noone is gonna buy it. No class in this car.

Hope they keep the Indian version untouched or make it more classier. I for one am not gonna touch this new version at all.

Hopefully the world is ending in 2012 so we wont have to go through the experience of watching this eyesore on the roads.

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

For me, this car is looking like this. This is the unnamed Dodge car (Hornet???) that will be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2012. The news says that it is engineered by Fiat.

What do you think Guys?

I really can't decide if I like or hate this. But it cannot be anything in between.
This certainly isn't what we're used to from the Italians!
I guess this is what the market wants, looking at the sales of the "fluidic" Verna which I personally find to be a mediocre car in every front.
With Fiats, as of the present, everybody admires them, but nobody save a few enthusiasts buy.

Re: Fiat Linea 2013 - Spy Shot

Blasphemy!

What have they done to the gorgeous Linea?

It's like some American car and hardly anything Fiat or Italian in it. NoT a bad looker, this new car is. But not at all a worthy replacement (look wise) for the Linea. Here's hoping, that it may never come to India.
