Voted for Palio 1.6 GTX as I own one

Have driven other cars too but the joy of driving my beast is leagues ahead of driving any other cars in that class. I touched the max speed of 170kmph and always felt safe inside.

By the way, mine is a rare one with ABS and EBD, AirBags !

Voted for the GTX!

I havent owned a GTX yet, but I have spent good amount of time with one! The experience simply lasts a life time.

Looks brilliant, handles like a dream and then the 3rd gear fun on the GTX will finally floor you down! Hottt hatch

That is why, I voted for GTX, beside owning 1.6 Sport, that gave never-ending happiness when driving.

Canary Yellow is the sportiest colour with that S10 Spoiler, just a damn good car...

And whenever I See Polo, it reminds me of Palio. Just see the side-profile, some-times you can always confuse with Palio...

Had to vote for Others - Fiesta 1.6S is missing. Figo should be removed and you should include 1.6S.

This is for the hottest hatch.Fiesta 1.6S is not a hatchback and hence not included in the list.

I voted for Palio 1.6 GTX as i own one in canarary Yellow.
Awesome car to drive.
Sometimes reading reviews and comments from fellow members about GTX is more exciting that the actual ride itself.

May the one you drove had bad ball joints, and saggy front suspension.

To drive enthusiastically, you just need evenly paced pedals, nice chunky and well placed steering, well positioned gear lever, and nice supportive seats with good recline angle and hieght. Out of these, what did you find offset?

+1 to this post. The Ikon (1.6) has brilliant steering in my opinion. I also currently own a Swift and a City, and have previously owned a Merc, two Esteems, a Safari, two Astras and a Gypsy. I'd rate the chassis and the steering of the Ikon to be leagues ahead of everything else.

It had problems, sure (terrible brakes, Ford after-sales, poor resale value, sub-optimal fuel economy), but the engine, chassis, and steering weren't among them.

To me Ikon 1.6 was even involving and fun than the Fiesta 1.6. What a sweet engine the 1.6 ROCAM was, mated to a short geared gearbox and the super chassis. Brakes were bad for such a fun car.

Let's get back to hatchbacks.

I just love reading this article over and over. Had posted this article on the BEAT discussion thread about a month back when a few Bhpians had doubts about the EOL (end of life) of the Palio. This article turned out to be like a NOS shot and suddenly they were all ga-ga over the Palio.

Voted for Brio/Jazz only for the Engine! And the Brio is super peppy too (read as: Fun).
The new K-Series on the Swift is not as enjoyable as the old one.

I tend to agree with Mahadev.
A 1.6 Palio in canary yellow is as hot a hatch as it can get.

Just got my friend's Palio S10 cleaned and polished over the weekend and it looked just awesome.

It was posted online by BS Motoring team some months ago. I had this write-up in my mind before starting the thread. Searched through their web portal and found it.

BTW, Just after this poll/thread was started, only after 5-6 hours,the same article (Polo 1.6 vs GTX) was posted (once again!) by BSM on their Facebook page.

This might just be a co-incidence or is it that somebody always keeps an eye on everything that goes in T-bhp.

I wasnt much enticed by the Palio as I didnt quite like its understated looks. It was all hype and hoopla for me.

Until the day, I fired one. And boy, did it roar to life! I was so impressed with the nimbleness of the car while driving. Kept revving the engine only to hear the roar.

Voted for the same in here.
