Hence, the dealers have to post their customers details along with all the necessisty data. Which is generally not done completely, on the very same day of the sale.

I was speaking about the data available for Public(Siam)
The only area where this will be available is the individual region offices where they track the sales from RTO's in their regions.
Only from this the OEM's itself will track the competition's dealer sales data.

May be attributed to the fact that SX4 is competing with Vento, new Verna, Linea that are far newer models with better features being offered. A value for money buyer would be tempted to not to look at German engg marvel Vento or very dashing Verna. Dated looks of SX4 adds to their lower sales.

Got a great product but won't budge to the diesel market here in India. They won't plonk a 2.2 Di available internationally. Won't put in two extra kiddie seats and charge a wholesome 20Lacs for a petrol.

That may be because the price of the top end variant inches close to the more modern rivals. Also the strike effect at Suzuki plant. May be the diesel engines would have been diverted to Swift and Dzire duo.

Woould it be possible to break up the numbers by Fuel type? Say P, D and other (LPG/CNG/Hybrid/Electric). That could give more insight. I am just wondering if a Diesel/P-LPG Eon will break the Suzuki stranglehold. I also agree with the PoV that MSIL is seeing a one time spike after the strike ended. Time will tell.

Fiat is a big mystery to me. I have a Linea Emotion Pk Diesel for almost 18 months now, and I wonder how they could screw up the sales of THIS CAR!!! I had some problems with A$$, some trouble with timely spares. I have a dealer who has separate SAs. Nothing bad enough to explain the flatline sales. I can think of two things:
1. People are very satisfied with selling engines. Maybe the Engine division needs to get spun off, and somebody needs to be accountable only for Car sales (maybe this is already the case, I dont know).
2. The only real grouse I have is that I feel like the owner of a Tata taxi when I go to the Service Center. I dont know a better way to describe it. No offense meant, I am good friends with many Tata car owners, but just that I dont want to be one or feel like one.

Highly underpowered. Runs on the same 1.2 l diesel engine that powers Swift D and Dzire. Had read some months ago that Maruti is sourcing 1.6 l engine for it. Add to it the dated look as well.

SX4 is no way highly underpowered.

First, It's a 1.3 l engine and not 1.2 l.

Second, even though it's a same engine from Swift D and Dzire D, it has variable geometry turbo producing 90 bhp instead of swift's fixed geometry turbo producing 75- some bhp.

It produces same power as Linea D and Manza D, so no way highly underpowered.

There are other reasons like competition to better snob valued cars (VW Vento, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid) with better interior and features. Not to mention, all other competitors in this segment have latest cars where as SX4 is at least 7 to 8 years old design.

IIRC SX4 was launched in 2006. Its not that old and outdated. In fact a lot of people like the aggressive stance.

Thanks for correcting. But again, it hasn't seen any major design updates other than grill change and some minor stuff. Looks are very subjective but look at the competition and suddenly SX4's design looks very old.
